Sony TV's newspapersnew show, Reporters has been making headlines since the release of its promo which shows Rajeev Khandelwal forcibly kissing Kritika Kamra and the latter slapping the former in return. With the fast-paced world of electronic media as the backdrop, the show seems notches higher than many other TV shows in terms of style and content. The promos have been well received by the audience and have managed to generate curiosity for the show. Here's listing out some reasons as to why the show is special...

Rajeev Khandelwal: Rajeev Khandelwal is still remembered for his convincing portrayal of Sujal in Balaji Telefilms' show,Kahiin Toh Hoga. Rajeev catapulted to such fame that the audience even started calling him the Shah Rukh Khan of the small screen.' A few more stints on TV happened before Rajeev made his first big screen appearance with Rajkumar Gupta's critically acclaimed, Aamir. While the film failed at the box-office, Rajeev's acting skills became the talk-of-the-town. But unfortunately, the movies which followed met similar fate at the ticket windows. They earned respect but not money. Now, after a long gap, having worked with some of the finest Bollywood directors, Rajeev's back with Reporters. A good script was all he wanted to make a comeback and the show did appeal to the handsome actor

Kritika Kamra: As far as the promos go, Kritika Kamra seems to have perfected her role as the trainee journalist. The slight nervousness on her face with a pinch of inquisitiveness is making her character look so real that the viewer is easily taken away. Plus, Kritika Kamra is one of the most talented and popular female faces on the Indian Television today. The actress, who was last seen in Kuchh Toh Log Kahenge, has been very choosy about her roles.

Goldie Behl: Having helmed films like Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Haiand Drona, Goldie Behl clearly knows how to make the best use of his filmmaking experience for TV shows. Reporters is his first TV show as a director. Moreover, how often do we get to see a spunky kiss between the lead pair in a show's promo

Audacious topic: Making a TV show on a topic as audacious as TV journalism is not child's play. One needs to do a lot of research to do complete justice to it. The direction too needs to be first-rate so as to ensure that each and every scene comes alive on the screen. There have been numerous films on journalism but Reporters is the first ever TV show which dares to risk it.

I agree with the first reason up there. Rajeev Khandelwal is definitely bringing tons of audience. Also, I think the promo where Ananya slaps Kabir is what has people wondering what Rajeev-Kritika's chemistry would be like, so that's another plus point.

First two episodes have kinda proved that this show will be no less than a fast-paced show, like none other.

The concept is catchy and it is different from all the other shows. This is one such concept that has never been experimented with on TV.. That's what makes it more special and amazing..

I agree with everything up there.

The actors have been chosen well. Everyone fits their role as if it was tailor-made for them. Rajeev looks perfect as Kabir, Kritika looks perfect as Ananya...and so on.

Also the direction and story-writing are proving to be really good and on par with what you see in reality. I do expect a little bit of fiction, but I'm sure they'll gel it into the story so well that you'll have a hard time telling that it's fiction.

The other thing I like is the way they aren't cutting into other shows. Usually when a channel launches a new show they'll have a week long of hour episodes and then cut it down to half an hour. Here Sony kept it at the half an hour and to top it off their precaps are such that you have to come back for more.
