Hey Winnie,
Cool and fun topic! Kahan gaye voh din.. Would be the thought when one sees this post!I would go with 9th and 10th! It was a new school, new experience.I was from Madurai, and studied in the same school, with the same friends/classmates from KG till 8th, until I had to go to Muscat to continue. I missed the place, my teachers but was quite bothered about leaving.Once I reached the new school, a term had passed, I was the new girl who joined late, was a teacher's kid, so the class knew who I was before I could know who they were.I admit I was the worst of kids, did not talk, had attitude, complex, given kids in foreign - Bigade huye!Oh how wrong I was! I was intimidated would be an understatement!I loved how they were cool enough to accept me into their world, and did make some very good friends.Poeple still remember me for my mum's khana that she packed for break/tiffin. I used to khule aam distribute my food, and always went home hungry! 😆The timings were superb - 6.50 to 1.50! I was home by 1.55, given it was really close.Oh wow, I was supposed to say why I loved my class and here it goes...Still now that I have realized...We had a Britisher teaching us about Gandhi and Independence and he spoke flawless HindiWe had a Tamilian for a Bio teacher, also our class teacher who had a really tough time handling usWe had a Banarsi Babu/UP wale for a Hindi teacher, who did not shy away from scolding everyone "beautifully"We had a Kashmiri Pandit who taught musicWe had a Malyalee teacher explaining to us the Law's of PhysicsWe had a Marathi/MP wala as our Geography teacher, so strict that kids hated to hate himWe had a Hydrebadi teacher explaining the complexities of the Indian EconomyWe had a Sindhi teaching us English, with being the most innovative in making complainsWe had a Parsi for a Librarian..Well.. I could go on, and the classmates, kids! They were from all parts of India and knew all the possible swear words on this planet! Something unique, given the diversity of languages!I had fun, even though I was the adamant one, with the ego issues!
