If you love someone, you have to let them go- and if they come back to you, they'll always be yours.

What a Parudlicious episode we got today! So many firsts for our favorite couple, and I'm so glad they gave us this. All the symbolism in this episode had me totally fangirling.

First of all, the most obvious symbolism was when Paro and Rudra were folding the sari. She told him she would only send him away one more time, and this represents her telling him of the sacrifice she promised to make to Bholenath. This brings us to the saying I began with, because it rings so true for Rudra and Paro. They will have to let each other go to truly allow their love to blossom- after all, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

The blue that spilled on Rudra represents his position as Neelkhant, someone who is always willing to take the poison for Paro. Today too, he was the one stained by the dark blue of the ink- hurt by whatever could have hurt Paro. This truly represents their love for each other, and illustrates how Rudra will always be her protector.

The dance that Sumer and Laila did to Tune Maari Entriyaan represents how they will enter each other's hearts unknowingly. Although they are both only tied by hate right now, they will fall in love with each other because of that- there is only a thin line between love and hate- this love will be represented by the temple bell, which will signify that they are letting the divine love of Paro and Rudra be and that they are focusing on their own relationship.

Rudra's choice to give Paro back her earring represented him putting his heart in her hands. Her earring is one of his most prized possessions, and represents him holding onto her so she doesn't get away. Him giving the earring back to her illustrates that he knows that no matter where she goes, she will always come back to him.

There was so much more symbolism in today's episode, but I cannot capture it all. I hope this shows just some of how much thought the CVs put into this show to please all of us!

EDIT:
The moment Paro said, "paas aayiye" and Rudra, mesmerised, did as she wished- I knew it would be symbolic. Isn't this the premise upon which all love-hate relationships are based? They will come close, they will be inches apart, but the past will return to haunt them. A most beautiful fact was subtly put forth by Paro- that she'd have to go away. It will be a majboori. One last time, but it will be crucial. How else will the love transform into something deep, concrete, and permanent? This one separation is necessary for the hamesha to prevail.

In the opening scene, I was also caught by how defenceless Rudra seemed. It was as if the kathputhli dance scene was replaying itself. For real. When Paro asks him to stride afar the first time, Rudra nods slightly and backs off. This man- Major Rudra Pratap Ranawat- is reduced to the whims and fancies of his khoobsurat aurat of a wife. And when he falls, he probably realises this fact. But there is no regret, or any anger when there is anything to do with Paro. He doesn't care about his "image" when Paro is in the picture. He is careless, free, and he laughs.

The other thing which struck me- why was it so important for Rudra that Paro wears that bali? Immediately? It was his acceptance of all that transpired between them at Jaipur. He wanted to put a seal on those moments of ecstasy, and make them tangible. He remembers- that's all that matters. No need to answer Paro. His heart is already hers.

And then, the Sumer and Laila scene. Laila, the sherni (once again, she's the representative of all the RR animal imagery trope) underlined some hard truths for Sumer. But she is also the perfect catalyst to mobilise Sumer's latent wrath against his mother for throwing him out of the house. Interestingly, theirs could be a whirlwind affair. Again, a no strings attached one. But she will keep mistaking Sumer for Rudra in moments of passion. That is sure to cause trouble, and maybe, betray her true intentions.

It's interesting to see everyone is sidelining Mohini. It is actually Mo who's being picked up like a "doodh ki makkhi". Both Laila, and Samrat have decided to keep her out. Dwindling powers of this matriarch- clearly she will be vicious in her come back.

The rest- I think you have underlined brilliantly, Choti 👏

Also CVs, perfect balance in this episode- drama, romance, bollywood. Paisa vasool. RR is such a tasty khichdi.

I totally agree to those quotes that you used... And it applies very well to Paro and Rudra...
Today was a beautiful and PaRud filled episode...!!!!! Gave some peace to the eyes to see them together enjoying some moments without any external interference!!!!! 😳

Talking of symbolisms, you provided a good insight into the scenes and the connect between them!!!! And finally we got the reverse shower scene as well!!!! 😉😳

Sumer and Laila... Would be interesting to see how they play out!!!!! Laila would be the one manipulating Sumer this time... The poor guy wouldn't know what hit him if he gets together with Laila... And Mohini... God help the victims that she decides to pick on!!!! Having being backed into the sidelines by her own son and Laila, she will unleash a tandav on everyone whi dares to cross her path!!!!!

But for now, it was a lovely episode!!!!👏

Great analysis Choti. I agree with everything you said. Wonderful post. Now looking at the episide from a psychological point of view, I felt the writers touched upon a number of taboo disorders in today's episode. Of course they couldn't present these diseases in a blatant in-your-face manner, so they took help of symbolisms.

1) Laila calling Sumer Rudra during their heated exchange if words symbolize that she will scream out Rudra's name instead of Sumer's in bed. You know what this means? Yes, Laila suffers from delusions, she has a false perception of senses.

2) Laila slapping Sumer. This hints towards her being a sadomasochist. She likes being violent with her lover. Rudra must have been at the receivimg end too when he was with Laila.

3) Rudra returning one earrimg of Paro's but keeping another one with him. This shows he suffers from erotitic fetishism. Again a very sensitive disorder and I think the CVs are doing a great service to society by highlighting all these.

Wow Exprimeresa, I love your analysis! I really do think the katputli dance scene was meant to show the control Paro has over Rudra right now. He's so lost in her whims, that he doesn't even care if she's pulling the strings- he just laughs and enjoys her company- and even goes shopping with her! It just goes to show the power of love.

Laila is really like a lioness- she thinks she's the queen, but really, she doesn't have enough brains. The real brains are with the elephant- or KcM. While she's planning KcM's downfall, KcM will be planning hers, and then the elephant will stomp on the lion with one big step. Sumer is just extra in this scene- the vain male lion that has nothing but hair.

I'm so in awe of this show. It's just amazing.
