Jaya hit the nail on the head regarding the outpouring of posts yesterday on Paro. It was not about one isolated episode, this is a feeling many of us have shared repeatedly on this board, especially since the last few weeks. The story was beautiful when it started off, because it was evenly balanced between both the leads, they both got equal time and space for their feelings. The last few weeks, ever since the action shifted to the haveli, it has become lopsided and too heavily weighted on one side.
Yes, Rudra is struggling with bad memories of his childhood, his mother, ever since he came back. He is also dealing with job issues, and a vicious aunt. And trying to protect a girl who could be his only witness. And struggling with mixed feelings for her.
But he has two people who know the entire truth with him, his father and his uncle. Even in the middle of all this, he is not alone.
Paro is dealing with a whole lot more ... she is completely alone, in a hostile environment, her only protector is also her biggest enemy, she is being forced into a marriage she doesn't want, for the sake of protecting her loved ones, she has no one she can confide in. Rudra is throwing bits of information at her which she cries out are lies, but does she mull over what he says at all when she's alone? Does she even consider that what he says might be right, and then try to deny it to herself, as a way of coping with what she's going through?
The writers have had opportunities where they could have shown more about her feelings, but they have ignored them or cut them short. The recent episode of the song was one such opportunity. So this protest is not about yesterday as such, it is about the preceding few weeks. This is a daily show, and the cvs have plenty of time to explore the feelings of all the protagonists ... we are getting plenty of scenes of the antagonists, but not enough of the protagonist, especially the leading lady, who is the only completely positive character. And that makes the show lop sided, and also heavy with negativity.
And please don't say that Paro is a weak character and has no existence apart from Rudra, so they can't show scenes of her alone. She has shown more strength in dealing with the blows fate has dealt her than Rudra has ... she has kept her strength and beliefs intact and confronted Kaakisa face to face, not once but twice ... she has developed a fledgling relationship with Maithili and Sunehri ... she is at loggerheads with Sumer, but quietly so. Any of these relationships can be developed into small filler scenes ... which would also contribute to showing more of Paro's growth. If her realisation of Rudra's truth is not written into the story for the current moment, I would rather they delayed it ... don't want another show being derailed because of the ML's absence ... i'd rather watch filler scenes for two weeks and get back to the original story when he returns ... but even filler scenes should include the female lead as much as possible.
Whether Ashish is absent or present, these issues need to be dealt with.
