What is tough is not being given a dialogue, but still being able to emote. What is tough is not speaking, yet capturing the attention of the viewers.

And Sanaya, and Ashish for that matter too, do that, beautifully.
It is relatively easier to express the characters feelings in a dialogue - saying a "I'm happy" or "I'm sad" or whatever, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the actor is doing a good job with the character!

What is truly tough is to express the feelings of your characters without actually saying it out loud. To emote purely with your facial expressions, your body language, your eyes. What is tough to be able to do these things even though you don't relate to the character much!

Yes, the focus in Rangrasiya till now has been mostly on Rudra, but that doesn't make Paro/Sanaya less involved in the show, that doesn't mean that Paro's character isn't "good enough" for Sanaya, and that definitely does not mean that Paro/Sanaya is just reduced to crying.

The number of dialogues an actor has in one episode does not determine the "worth" - for a lack of better word - of the actor. An actor's worth is determined by WHAT he/she does in the dialogues they have, and even more so by WHAT they do when they don't have a dialogue.

P.S. This post is not to undermine the talent and efforts by the rest of the cast, because EACH one is doing BRILLIANTLY, it is simply to appreciate the talent of those actors, who emote without having dialogues!

People are winning awards and getting the most praised for playing deaf and blind characters be it Rani in black or PC in Barfi! Those roles are much more challenging for an actor to play Sanaya haven't had much dialogues in the show but she still left her impact critics praised her in all there reviews.

IMO Sanaya character is the most channeling in RR. Most actors suck at leaving an impact with no dialogues but she does it so effortless.

Completely agree and understand. It takes more effort to 'show' the feeling rather than 'tell' it, and is what separates the great actor from a good one. It is not every actor's cup of tea. Sanaya's ability to express without the aid of words is what will always mark her out as a great actress.

Totally agree, however I do think the story is about Parvati & Rudra, not Rudra alone .

I am more impressed with her taking a totally different role than Khushi... Rather than doing the same run of mill like other actresses.

Lovely post, Drish!
I personally think that Paro's role is the most challenging role for Sanaya in her career till date ... she is an urban well educated free spirited girl, playing a barely educated, shy timid, reserved village girl ... all the things Sanaya most definitely is NOT. It must be most challenging to get into the skin of such a character and feel her psyche to play her ... how she would react to the situations, and express all she feels only with her eyes. Paro is a self-effacing character, so she will never say too much ... that is the most challenging thing for an actor to do.

And hats off to Sanaya for taking this up and delivering so beautifully ... she took a couple of weeks to settle into the skin of Paro, and now that she has, she is playing her effortlessly. But it is a very tough role, she has very few light moments ... her character is a serious, quiet girl who is just starting the long journey of becoming a strong woman.

Same with Rudra ... Ashish delivers seamlessly in his silent scenes ... he has spoken of the homework that he put into getting into character, and it shows.

The difference from most other love stories here is that both the lead characters are the silent types ... while most love stories have bubbly outgoing female leads and strong reserved male leads.

WORD. Completely agree. It's much harder to play those characters because they have to communicate through their expressions, and body language .. not by the easiest means of communication - talking.

Even though Paro barely speaks, by eyes inadvertently moves to look at her expressions, and they're ALWAYS bang on! There is not one moment of a slip up. Sanaya's fab!

It is. I just meant that at this point in the show, the focus is more on Rudra, than it is on Paro.
