Maybe she has a splinter in her hand, and she is hiding it from him, to not draw his attention to her any more than necessary, as her heart starts beating very fast when he is around 😉

He wants to help her take it out, so corners her and takes out the splinter

This might be AFTER he interrogates her and knows or suspects she is really innocent and marries her or keeps her confined in his house as house arrest maybe? and they are slowly falling in love, whilst still in denial, at least he is! So it's not in the haveli, I think. It's at his house or quarters.

OH OK BUT I DON'T THINK SHE CAN FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM WHEN HE HAS KILLED HER HUSBAND RUINED HER MARRIAGE MAYBE AFTER SHE REALISES THE TRUTH BUT WILL SHE FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM THAT EASILY
