Hey Veena if you need to close this you can, just wanted to tell my story of this horrifying weekend.
The tale starts on Friday. I got my schedule and I am allotted for the 28th the Sunday of Iren'e entry to the tri-state area. I immediately knew i would get stuck because most storms cause lots of damage in my area especially the past year. I told them I don't know if I will make it in on the 28th. They said you gotta try your best to get here.
I started my shift in a bit of fury since I worked the weekend before. Parkway going south towards my exit was closed. So my parents were worried so they came to guide me home through an alternate route. We got home by 2am( My shift is 3-11:30 but I had to wait until nearly 1am to leave, sometimes I have a lot of work to do so don't get home before 1am)
Saturday I was off, when foreshadowing of Irene arrived. That night we had a tornado warning and later flash flood warning in my area. It was hard to sleep.
This morning no news about north bound parkway closed. I left my house around 2pm for my shift. I was s startled to see that parkway was blocked after being on there just a few minutes. I took the ill planned detour. i had no gps since I didn't expect any changes to my travel plan. A tornado missed us. My father was able to go to work so I thought I would be fine. It was raining hard. A black truck almost crushed me in my Toyota corolla. Barely I got away from that , then I ended up in a dead end. I called my family and then called work. They gave me directions but roads were closed from all different directions. I was lost.
I parked in a shopping center. I called my family and work again.
Ordeal lasted about two hours, didn't make it to work, ended up coming home.
Hope I don't lose my job( called thema total of four times!)
