Dadi asks Hari Lal to bring food

He brings out samosas, slim cucumber sandwiches, pastries and steaming hot gulabjamuns, with mango juice and chai

Khanak gorges, Dadi watches...

Khanak: Ab main change karke aaoon?

Dadi: Sure! I am right here. I am glued to this chait now (smiles fondly)

She makes her way upstairs, no sign of hubby, she showers, changes into a dark pink chiffon saree with pale gold leaf motif all over, a pink cap sleeve bluse completes the attire

She wears her black bead on her mangal sootra and leaves the 4 bangles on each hand.

Walks out of the bathroom watching her long trailing pallu, and smiling at how it chases her.

8:44 pm

Shaan: Stunning night clothes! (claps his hands softly)

Arms folded across his chest, wearing the blue and white check shorts and a white Polo tee with blue trim at the edge of the collar, one foot up on the closed door.

Khanak smiles confidently, walking up to the locked door "That's not quite a standing ovation actually" (pointing to the foot on the door)

Shaan: It must be 7, you are home... (taunt)

Shaan: Does it thrill you to defy me ?

Khanak: somewhat... (confident)

Shaan: What took you so long?

Khanak: Work...

Shaan smiles "Really?"

Khanak: I have a new team now.

She shows 4 with her fingers "4 people"

Shaan: excited?

Khanak: Totally'' (smug)

Slowly inches towards the door knob.

Shaan: Khanak, don't go! (softly)

Something about that tone is so sincere and heartwarming it melts her heart

Khanak: I told Dadi I would go to Mahalakshmi with her.

Shaan: Don't...

Khanak: We cant sleep at 8:40 can we?

Shaan: Who said anything about sleeping.

She smiles.

Khanak: Her arms are folded across her chest also, they are facing each other talking like strangers, a very quiet pleasant conversation

Khanak: Are you usually so impatient and aggravated every morning? (sad)

Shaan: I love my job Khanak (defensive)

Reaches and feels her bindi, it's a tiny speck of dark pink and gold.

Khanak: I almost did not exist, when I did you snapped at me (looks at his feet)

He trails a finger on her parting, smudges off some burgundy dust, when she looks up at him, he dabs her nose with it.

Shaan: Did I make you mad?

Khanak: You always make me mad''

Shaan: That's not the truth'.

Khanak shakes her head

Khanak: You wear shoes inside the house?

He smiles realizing somethings she never forgets and constantly bother her

Khanak: Aapka ghar to itna saaf hai (thoughtful)

He only catches the first word his muscles tighten

Shaan: Aur aapka ghar kaisa hai? (playing along, not amused though)

Khanak: mera ghar to chhota hai'''

Khanak measures with her arms, "Bus do kamre hain"

Shaan:Are you happy?

Khanak: Very

Their eyes locks for a few seconds.

Khanak: Shantanu main jaaon? Please?

He audibly sucks his breath in " Do you realize how long its been since you said my name like that?"

Cups her face with his hands.

Khanak: I did, the morning, we left Boston (husky)

Shaan: Oh1 That was in bed''. I meant later'..

Khanak: When I poured your coffee down the drain and forced you to have chai? (softly)

Shaan: Hmmm

Khanak: You pinned me against the frig'''.

That is all he has patience for, he bends down and picks her up

Shaan: Over three days Khanak...

Walking towards the bed...

Shaan: you hair is still wet, why don't you ever dry it?

Khanak: I don't like to...

He gently places her in bed,floats above her

Shaan: I love seeing your things in the bathroom...

Khanak: The bindis on your mirror? (smiles)

He is descending slowly on her.

Khanak: You are wearing a belt (plea) My waist is bare'.

Shaan:I only see saree everywhere!

Khanak: Mint (the newspaper) had the scent of your aftershave on it (in the car)

Shaan: Did you like it? (chuckles in her neck)

Khanak: I only like it on your jaw!

They both sigh at the same moment...

Khanak: I am told this was supposed to wear off (this intense euphoric pleasure)

Shaan: You heard wrong''..

Wraps her pallu in his hands, squishing and crushing it''.

Shaan: You were in there for hardly 10 minutes, you come out looking like this?

Khanak: Aapko kaise maloom?

Shaan: Are you kidding me? I had plans to come downstairs and pick u up.

She finds his hand on her waist...

Shaan: I want you to model one time for me.

Khanak: Only if you do the same

Shaan: In sarees...

Khanak: In ---- (giggles)

They kiss the first time, on his bed'.

Later...

Shaan: You taste like some sweet now😊

He lays on the bed and brings her to the top of him

Shaan: How does it stay in place? (shocked)

Khanak: Its pinned on my shoulder.

He is swathed in dark pink...He slides a finger underneath and is shocked to find the object they just talked about'.

Shaan: You have no idea how many nites Ive stayed up imagining this.

She fights the release of the pin

Khanak: I thought you must have no time to think...(hoarse)

He is holding his breath, watching the exquisite scrap of chiffon slide off her shoulder... Draping his chest

Khanak: I thought about you every nite...
