Truly, Completely, Absolutely.......
The past week was yet another testament to the above!!!!Since appraisals are the current flavour of the season😆, thought of doing something on similar lines for our favourite twosome......Will go with what is considered the norm....Ladies First!!Yashashri MasurkarSuperb start to the week gone by....Loved Khanak's rendezvous with Shaan egging him on for the party....in complete innocence, oblivious to the impending storm!!!Really the whole scene with Sam that followed when she falls for whatever Sam has to say...like her heart just wanted some reason to believe that Shaan would never leave her alone and go!! BeautifulSpecial mention for the remarkable face-off with Shaan when her fidelity is questioned!!! The fiery, self-respecting, yet understated 'Khanak from Dhulwadi' completely to the fore!!!Like I said there is a certain difference between ego and self-respect...The ego bit is something Khanak has always kept away from. The biggest examples would be when she is getting into the bus but looks back waiting for some car...when she is into the bus and thinks its Shantanu following...even today when she says that her hubby will be there soon...she just wants him to realise his mistake and take her back!! Adorable!!Sparks of BrillianceYashu, you can take a bow girl, for your exemplary portrayal of the "he-loves-me/ he-loves-me-not" dilemma. 👏 ⭐️ Completely Bang-on!! Realistic to the core...the conflicting thoughts...the cobwebs plaguing the mind brought out with complete elan, by a woman completely to the cameras born!!!Splendid, absolutely innovative depiction of Khanak's confused state when Sam leads her into believing that Shaan has asked her to get Khanak along to the party!!! A huge round of applause to you, lady for the thought put into your depiction of that scene 👏.....the blinking of the eyes to express sheer disbelief...the instinctive happiness on hearing the news shrouded in the innate fear of the not having heard it from the horse's mouth!!....culminating in the confused "haan".....These subtle nuances.....absolutely super-duper, Yashu!!!👏👏👏I mentioned the above scene without realising that you have spoken about it later on in your post😆..anyway the girl stood out this week...all scenes were bang on....I think most people have missed this part when Anand tells "mahapurush says have apples" and she gets all teary eyed hearing the words....even when she gets down from the bus there is a certain uncertainty in her ..she is scared ..does not know how to face the questions that may face her in Dhulwadi ..but at the same time she misses him ..wants him back and is still uoset over the events of the night. A blend of emotions portrayed so well.Karan TackerFirst things first....Is this guy just 24????If KT's portrayal of Shantanu Khandelwal is anything to go by, his intellect is way beyond an average 24-year old!!!😛The past week depicted KT's ability to handle intense histrionics in all its glory....For starters, the simmering fire beneath the calm exterior.....on Shaan's encounter with Khanak post the Sunny misunderstanding. Superb finer nuances shown👏.....shrugging of shoulders to flinching of eyes.....a man totally under the grip of the fallacies of the human mind!!!Dont forget the teary eyed self all the time...makes you feel like giving him a hug even though he is wrong in suspecting her. He tells her she is wrong this time...it feels like saying it is hurting him more than hurting the one hearing it.The cafe showdown and the undercurrents of tension building up to it.....Splendid dialogue delivery of "khud ko bhi nahi sun sakoon" on drowning his sorrows in the deafening amplitude of the music...Bang-On!!👏 Super emoting of a man completely broken....anguish, angst, the works really, perfectly pitched about "love not being enough"......the myriad expressions on seeing Khanak enter the cafe....sarcasm dripping out of every word, yet beautifully understated.... 👍🏼Another scene that wins you over is when Khanak leaves and he suddenly realises that and he goes "Khanak" wanting to stop her...but then goes back to the alcohol...beautifully done!!A special mention here for the whole "under the influence of alcohol" act!!! A little more than what was depicted would have ruined the essence of the scene, and anything less of the pitch explored would have fallen just flat!!! An alcoholic so totally sloshed, yet so capable in his act, not to forget droolworthy😳.....a complete thumbs-up!!!Dialogue Delivery is definitely one of KTs strengths....last week had ample proof of the same!!! Loved his "Lets play!!" to Khanak just before the 'Truth and Dare' face-off.....the whole tension-filled build up to Sunny's arrival in the cafe with the perfectly poised "Us toofan bhari raat ko kya hua tha??".....Typically Shaan...no frills, no frounces...just straight to the point!!! Loved his "Yeh sawaal maine tumse nahin poocha, Khanak!!" The second time he says it, is sheer brilliance!!!👏👏👏Now over to pure excellence.....the proverbial 'saved the best for last', in my opinion......KTs portrayal of a man in a state of complete delirium!!! An absolute classic, to put it mildly....👏👏👏 A special word of praise for the CVs here to conceive such a brilliant scene enacted by an equally brilliant actor!!! Everything about the scene was perfection personified. First the physicality...the whole unwell look....teary eyed....actually looked like the guy was febrile!! The incongrous dialogues that followed....proof enough that the fever had reached his brain!!!😆 The whole disparate speech about the accident....beautifully conceived and beautifully delivered too!!! Loved the whole Sunny/Suraj mix-up in the "putting his demons to rest" act!! Wonderful indicator of the scarring effect of that incident on his mind and how much Khanak's forgiving him went a long way to 'liberate' him.....The proverbial icing....the tear trickling down his eyes at the end of the scene.....spoke a thousand words, really!!!!⭐️I loved how the tear was captured too...beautiful...spelt out the moment for me. The scene that followed was a masterpiece in itself. He has hurt her ...but more than feeling bad for his mistake..he goes into a mode thinking "She hates me now and will never love me" ..So typically Shaan.."me" central. Even while speaking to Sunil he happily says that the new generation "moves on" ...not bothering once to think about how Khanak would react....typically Shaan again. I know many people would say that he is selfish..but come on..he was always shown to be like this..a kid refusing to grow up..and this is the Shaan we alll fell in love with. Show him the right direction but he will take the wrong one!!😆As I am in "appraisal" mode😆, a little feedback on the "scope for improvement" areas as a viewer for these two truly gifted actors.....as we all truly wish to seem them reach the zenith of the powerhouse of talent that they are.....Yashu....could work on your diction....would take your dialogue delivery to a different zone altogether what with your already good voice modulation.....KT....just like most youngsters today, has probably grown on a staple of SRK movies. For an actor so natural and effortlessly brilliant, the SRK inspiration shows at times.....You're an absolute original, KT!!! Can do away with any external influences whatsoever.....In summary, would wrap up by saying that KT and YM are truly blessed with such a rare possession....a craft that seems so easy, but requires great calibre to prevent the 'craft' from showing!!!!Keep at your efforts, you two!!!.....we are priviledged to have known you through ShaNak, and from this point on can only pray for your everlasting success and glory.......Amen to that.....Dyo Di..have said it before and will say it again...you put things forward like no one else and put it in the best way possible. KT and YM are truly blessed to have people like you who not only analyse their skills but also put forward their areas of improvement. You spell out a true fan.
D!🤗
a bear hug coz' i have not talked to you in like days! busy bee kahin ki!
woah! that's some high praise d. i agree 100% they are both really good and have made promising starts in their careers and frankly are amongst the few in tv today who can actually act and act good.. for that they truly deserve all the apperication they can get👏
however, i would not like to believe that at the young age of 24 (i think both kt and ym are 24 right?), they have 'mastered their craft' of are 'perfection personified' as you say.
i really hope to see them grow and evolve and become even better than they are right now. if Ben kingsley and Anthony Hopkins can still not deliver a perfect performance, how can these two?😆 i wish them all the best and hope that we have yet not seen the best from these two. they are brilliant but not maestros yet.
D! you are spot on about their weaknesses. ditto on those! YM does really need to work on her diction and i have yet to see a episode where KT doesn't do a bit of SRK, even if it's for a few seconds. vwer well said on these points.
loved your analysis of shaan's feverish rant and khanak's delimma. no one can analyse a scene as well as you do!👍🏼 loved it and love you!
