@Shriya - That was the advice from another generation...
I agree....probably when I get married even I'll get a conscise form of those advice nuggets that you got...
But years down the line....I dont see this generation passing down the same values to the next generation...
Also I didnt revolt to it in context of the educated population...
There are various sections of the society who watch television....From my maid who gets battered up by her hubby and endures quietly...... to the villagers of our country who still follow hardcore patriarchy...
Small quotes like these can go a long way in reinforcing their beliefs....I can actually imagine what the people I counselled wudve made of that dialogue....a change in mindset needs lots of effort...but going back to the old mindset happens in a jiffy !!😕
Such innocent stuff is enough to spark off a lot of problems...
We live in metropolitan cities and dunno whats happening in the interiors....But there are uneducated people actually believing whats happening in shows/films !! And it pulls them down further....Its bad !!
I do not talk about RBO in this coz RBO has always portrayed woman very well in comparison to lots of other shows on TV.....They do not realize the impact they have while doing this....coz for them the target audience in youth/city educated audience....but there are others who watch the show too !! Media has a responsibility which they ought to carry very carefully !
