Friends,
For those wondering whether Shantanu-Natasha marriage is legal, here is a link on the Hindu Marriage act, from wikipedia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindu_Marriage_Act

I will highlight just two main points, relevant for the storyline in RBO- Under the section 'Conditions':

The conditions of marriage are specified in Section 5 as follows: the Act expressively prohibits polygamy by stipulating that a Hindu marriage can be solemnized between two Hindus if neither party has a living spouse at the time of marriage;[2
]

Under the section 'Divorce', the law says:
A wife can also present a petition for the dissolution of marriage on if the husband marries again after the commencement of his first marriage....

So basically, Khanak does not have any right by law to give 'permission' to her husband to remarry. But she can file for divorce if Shantanu marries Natasha. Now in this case, since the divorce is what Agarwal, Natasha, SD and BD want, Khanak would not file for it (if the marriage happens). Ad that is the case with a lot of women in India, whose husbands go on to marry again. They do not want to divorce, nor do they have the courage to get the husband arrested, so they just put up with it. And mistakenly, people assume that the first wife has the right to grant permission for her husband to remarry....

Sorry for all this serious stuff:) But I really am fed up with this bigamy scenario happening again and again... really hope Swapna ji does not let us down...

👏👏👏👏👏 very good Gaayu!! just lov what you've put here! not for nothing did i award you the "Lawyer of the Forum" LOL. Well i guess we all know that the shadi will not happen so i guess the CVs are not paying attention to the legal aspect. Had the marriage actually happened, the CVs would have brought around this aspect! waisay bhee as Sehjal says shaan wouldn't want to lead a boring life if he marries nattie...itna toh burthal nahi hain woh 🤣

I agree with you lawyer ji aka Gaayu 👏👏👏👏
Be it reel or real, there should be a sense in it and of course it should not go beyond or above the law. I hate this, why the heads of the families are acting weird, don't they know that this is illegal, at least cv's please obey the law

Thank u friends... actually it's my sister who is the lawyer, LOL, but never mind... award is an award and I humbly accept it:)

Actually, if u read the whole wiki thing, it says in the end, that newly married couple cannot file for divorce for at least one year. Why can't CVs understand this simple rule? They always show people ready to divorce within a few months of marriage.... TV has a big impact. People may actually believe what they see on TV bcos not everyone knows/understands the law.

Wish we had a law which said TV serials should not misrepresent the law, just for TRPs....
