the time for the untimely death of king dasarath, it seems is not far behind, he is seeing the hounds of death everywhere and then the divine form of his son Ram coming to give him solace.

so lets discuss something about dasarath's death. dasarath died pining for ram . he was cursed taht he will die llike this.

long time ago, even before ram was born . dasarath went hunting toa jungle. he was an expert in shabdvedi vanvidya.

he used this skill and heard a gurgling sound far, judging its a dear drinking water he used his skill and killed him.

it was infact shrava kumar , son of the blind saint couple, whose sole duty was to look after his parents . he was their only hope.he was at that moment taking water from teh river for his thirsty parents.

soon dasaarth came and found out what he had done, teh dying boy asked him to take his body to his parents.

when dasarath took his body to the eagerly waiting parents and broke the enws, teh two broke down and died of pain. before their death, the blind sage cursed dasarath taht he too will one day die like this pining for his worthy son.

this was all a part of destiny and many poets have used this story and told it in their different ways.some say its shravan kumar who cursed the king while otehrs prefer to stick to the parents. however sharava before his death lamented taht he could not be worthy to atek care of his parents any more and made dasarath promise taht he will look after them.

our very own rabindranath tagor has used this concept and created a wonderful daram " kalMrigaya"

acc to him, on this fatefull day, the andhamuni wanted his son to stay back but he went to fetch water for them and that resulted in his death

Somebody posted in this forum that when Shravan Kumar's parents cursed Dashrath that he would die because of the pain of separation from his son, then Dashrath thanked them saying that the curse meant that Dashrath would become father. 😊

even after marriage to three queens he had no heir for years, it was only then that he recalled this incident and derived some consolation that he will ahve sons born

So, what should be considered bad deed? - killing Shravan Kumar or trying to kill an animal?

it was a sin both ways..but the difference is tht it was a bigger sin by killing shravan kumar without proper judgement and if he would have killed an animal it would have been a sin in a small way as nobody counted killing animals as a sin those days but after Lord ram's birth tht principle came into existence till the 'ram rajya' got over..whenever lakshman or any of his borthers raised the bow against an animal ram would tell them not to as one should not kill n animal without reason i.e in other words - hunting.. 😊 ..but after tht rajas and maharajs commenced hunting
