Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan was an enormously popular series virtually stopping entire nation on every sunday @ 9.00 am. Important events like marriage etc. were rescheduled to accomodate time for Ramayan. Ramayan has been considered as the worlds most viewed mythological series until June 2003.

New Ramayan with huge and amazing sets, new cast, great piece of artwork, heavy and beautiful outfits is gaining popularity day-by-day.

Do you think New Ramayan has a potential to virtually stop the entire nation like its predecessor??

times have changed... people watch k serials 😡 , but hopefully the popularity of this Ramayan will grow so that people who watch k soaps will prefer to watch this...that would be awesome 👏

yea. agreed with u. Ramayan of 1986 was just awesome... but sorry, i dont think now any serial can repeat tht....................At tht time ppl were mad about Ramayan.............😆😆

yes but it comes 4days a week, and beside times have changed, during 88, theer was only this doordarshan, now people haev so many options

but no doubt it will grow popular day by day and even may reach the height to restrict the entire nation infront of tv channel for specila episodes.

BUt thing is, people have so may options now.even watching tv has become so complicated with paychannels an free cahnnels. as long as the maximum no of people will have access to the soap, it will be popular.Also whatever we may be now, our tradition, heritage and history attracts us. the soaring popularity of sopas like Prithviraj chauhan and Ravana are example

No i dont think so. It is a great show, but it is four days a week and not everyone is looking Ramayana.. there are so many serials too choose... 🤢

its popular because it has good trps..its in top 20 chart at number 15 and for a new show on new channel this trp is really good..9x and zee next shows are not even in the charts..im sure it will catch up later..shows like prithviraj chauhan and naaginn are working so why not Ramayan?

yup!! i also agree tht ppl now watch EKTA SHOWS & at the time of ramanad sagar there was only one channel that was DD1 ,but now with so many channels & so many shows def. the viewers of ramayan divides ,but i am sooooooooooooo happy with the new RAMAYAN ,THE NEW RAMAYAN IS TOTALLY FANTABULOUS & amazing types ,i am addicted to the new RAMAYAN !! 😛

After watching every episode, i'm getting addicted to ramayan day by day, i guess new ramayan has charm,content and direction to be a successfull show. Recent TRP ratings reflects the popularity also, I think some special episodes like hanuman crossing the ocean, sanjivni etc will glue everyone to their TV sets.

the show has just started .... im sure it will gather popularity 😉
