hmm Rupa Di has told me one of the interesting thing which she read in Valmiki Ramayan
that ram ji also got fainted after seeing Lakshmanji's condition and he also got cure from the same Sanjivni Booti and she said that there was no Kalnaimi episode in Valmiki Ramayan......
Rupa Di plzz.. fwd all the details which u read in Valmiki Ramayan..............that all is quite intersting....

Indrajit killed many sages who were performing sages to Lord Vishnu. He was of course a very brave warrior of Lanka, but he was not perfect, and he certainly did not always follow Dharma. Did you ever hear of the saying "What goes around comes around?"

One who does not follow Dharma will not necessarily be killed fairly. Plus, I do not find anything wrong in the way Lakshman killed Indrajit. Indrajit killed many brahmins who were performing yagnas. Then why is it suddenly wrong if his yagna to Nikumbila was disturbed? Lakshman did not do any Adharma. He never could do Aharma, as he was equal to his brother Shri Ram in his virtue and goodness.

Sita11 here is a respected member of Ramayan Forum, because she knows so much about Ramayan, and there is definitely much knowledge to be learned from her. Many people here have read Valmiki Ramayan, but you, who also claims to have read Valmiki Ramayan, suddenly make up disgusting stories about our Gods. You are the one who is deceiving others, not Sita11.

Agreed...why put the blame on someone else if you are the one who is actually decieving? If your disgusting stories are actually the Valmiki Ramayan, why has it not come out today? Why haven't your stories come out today? Why is what we believe, believed? Because great archeolgists, scientists, and much more have found the original Ramayan...which is what created Hinduism...I'm sorry but if you are the only one contradictting the stories of Ramayan with your ugly stories, how likely does that seem? I'll choose to follow my elders, grandparents, and my ancestors with my religion, thank you very much!!!

God takes incarnation not for one purpose but for multitudes of purposes. A single incarnation of his has many purposes behind it.

One of the prime reasons for Ram-avatar was to show to humans how to live their lives. When Lord Vishnu took the incarnation as Ram, then he could have easily planned the incarnation in such a way that he could kill Vali face-to-face; that Laxman could kill Indrajeet without using brahmastra; that Ram and Laxman would not have got affected by Indrajeet's naagastra. Not only that, the incarnation could have been planned in such a way a single arrow of Lord Ram would have been enough to destroy the whole army of Ravan together with Ravan himself.

But ordinary people are not capable of doing all these. Lord Ram wanted to teach how people on Earth should conduct their lives. The people here are often faced with lots of constraints. They have to find a solution out of these constraints.

Let us take the incident of Ram killing Vali from hiding. To understand why Lord Ram had to do this, imagine a situation. Suppose somebody (call him A) is always torturing another (call him B). Not only that, A is even always trying to kill B, You know that A is wrong and you also know that he deserves to be killed. You also know that there is no way you can defeat him in a face-to-face war? What will you do? Will you think it cowardice to attack from hiding and let A continue with his evil ways? That will be a foolish decision. The smart thing here will be to kill A from hiding.

Because of boon, Vali could not be defeated in war when he could see his enemy. But it is very important to note that any boon to anybody could become an obstacle to Lord Ram only if Lord Ram himself wanted it to become an obstacle. If he wanted to kill Vali in face-to-face war, then the boon to Vali could never stop Lord Ram.

But Lord Ram did not want the boon to be proved untrue. He wanted to be bound by various constraints because he knew that other people are often bound by constraints. And he wanted to show what best a person should do in a given situation and under given constraints.

When you have to jude somebody's action, then you should not take his action in isolation. You have to see the entire situation. Often it happens that a person has certain options with him and no matter whatever option he chooses, that option can be argued to be bad. But he has to do something. Therefore, he has to choose the best among the given options. So just because you can find some fault in the option he chose, you should not criticize him. Rather, you have to see what other choices he had. If other choices were worse than the choice he made, then whatever he did was good.

The above explanation will clarify why Lord Ram was justified in doing various things, which "seem" to be unjust.
