It may be obvious to some but, because of some recent threads, I must clarify it again.

I am noting that some members treat Deepika as Sita means the character Sita of old Ramayan and Debina as Sita means the character Sita of new Ramayan.

But this kind of thinking is completely wrong.

Please appreciate the fact that there is a big difference between actor and character.

If something related to Sita was shown in any of the Ramayans and you think it was not proper, what it really means is that you disagree with what the creatives of that Ramayan show. This is not the same as disagreeing with how Deepika or Debina performed a role.

To drive the point across, let me take a hypothetical example. Suppose (just for the argument) that Sagars show in the new Ramayan that Ram takes out a machine gun and shoots Ravan. You may say that they showed wrong. But it does NOT mean that Gurmeet's acting was wrong.

Please keep this distinction in mind.

but avinash dont u think comparision polls r unneccesry. I dont want to critisize the legendry old ramayn. I thinks such polls r not fruitful n create misunderstandings

You are right that they create misunderstandings. However, being in mod-team, I like to exercise only as much power as is bestowed on my as per rules of IF - nothing more than that.

Starting comparison topics per-se is not against IF rules. But how exactly people do comparisons may be against rules. So, if I find that comparisons are being made in an unfair way, then I will lock that thread.

I thinks there r more than ten threads on comparisions n polls. Its so useless. some topic like "Vote for Deepika the real Sita" was unnecessary

Some of such threads have gone to inside pages. So I will let them be there. But if any of these come back to the first page and the threads are such that they have created fights, then I will lock them. Then after a day or so, I will trash them.

exactly avinash ... we all dont want any kind of comparisons here....

Deepika-ARun , Gurmeet-Debina are just actors..

we all members here discuss our fvt Ramayan very peacefully and want to maintain that peace

so better u always close such threads of comparisons

and members also plz dont reply on such threads ...........

let the starter alone make discussions and opinions...

agree with you guys....
seriously i don't like all such comparison....and what sort of comparison... it like a generation gap.....
actors same ho to comparison banta hai.... tht we like this part of Ramayan or that part.....
everybody has there own skills.... so what is this comparison for all about....

thank u avinash bhaiya.....ur explainations was very justifing.....hope ur point of view may change others mind....one thing i wud like to add that if anyone just thing that making for for their fav. actors is not wrong bt the unnecessary issues arosen by some is creating problems....so if anyone comments plz think 2ice..........😊😊😊

yup the comparison post should be close. why to compare when already too much comparison has been done. the fan of both ramayan will do nothing but create chaos and disrupt peace. unnecessory arguments start only in those post. like happening now. yes purvi di that post "Vote for Deepika the real Sita" was unnecessary. what is need of starting that topic in this ramayan.

I agree with akhl...there's a lot of difference in saying "sita in ramayan" and "Debina in ramayan" it's so very obvious that Debina is doing what she's asked to do...some people take criticism on the makers personally which is not right...nobody is perfect nor r the Sagars...there might be few imperfections in old Ramayan and the new Ramayan so what?? i don't remember anywhere anybody has made a negative comment about Ramayan the epic!

Yes, if a majority of members have a problem that old Ramayan is being discussed then a mods must make it a rule and not allow anybody to do so...As far as repeatedly creating the same topics, it's impossible to go through all the pages of the forum to check whether or not a similar topic has been created..When I created one or two similar messages , which i never knew were created earlier, it was said that I am trying to disrupt the peace of the forum by raising the same topic again and again..only when someone pointed out what i exactly did, i came to know the problem..

it's my request akhl..plz pass this rule that neither old Ramayan, it's actors or anything not related to NDTV Ramayan must be discussed, nor it's criticism is allowed....i think it'll improve the sitation..
