15 Women ready to marry Wife Beater Rahul Mahajan
Drug Addict ka Swayamvar on TV
Continuing the trend of showing scripted, disgusting, degrading 'reality shows', the idiot box now gives you Rahul Mahajan ka Swayamvar, the second season of the Swayamvar series on NDTV Imagine. We were already traumatised after watching a bit of 'Rakhi ka Swayamvar' last year, but season 2 promises to be ludicrous beyond imagination.
According to reports 'Rakhi Ka Swayamvar' had 28 million viewers across the country hooked to TV screens during the first week itself. The final episode of that show was aired on August 2 last year when the beautiful, gorgeous and completely natural Rakhi announced that the Toronto-based businessman Elesh Parujanwala was her ideal groom.
The esteemed Rahul Mahajan has become the most eligible bachelor in India, quite suitable to have a reality show for his marriage, thanks to such eclectic, humanitarian feats as becoming famous for his father Pramod Mahajan's violent death, hogging tabloids for causing ruckus in bars, and hitting on girls on live television. Mahajan has also committed such benevolent acts as marrying his childhood friend Shweta, beating her to near-death every two days, divorcing her, using drugs like cocaine with champagne, being locked up by the police on charges of drug possession and consumption, and flirting with Payal Rohtagi on the sets of Big Boss-2.
Because of his glowing record not less than 15 intelligent girls have lined up to star in Rahul ka Swyamvar in order to marry him and live a happy, blissful life. Out of 15, three are from Delhi, three from West Bengal, two each from Maharashtra, UP & Haryana and one participant each from Jammu, Punjab and Gujrat. Below are the photos of the lucky prospective brides. We congratulate them for starring in this appealing, family oriented show.
Incidentally the show (with the tag RDLJ - Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega) was supposed to air in December 2009, but was pushed back. According to insiders the girl who won the contest refused to marry Mr Mahajan and ran away after she received the cash. It turned out that the girl wanted fame and publicity instead of the excellent Mr Mahajan. Shocking. As a result the producers decided to re-shoot the final episode.
