I've heard this comment posted lots here.

Rakhi is not good enough for Elesh, Rakhi is not good enough for Manmohan or his family, Rakhi is not good enough for Chittiz.

Guys, it is HER swayamvar. Do you think Rakhi is stupid that she didn't understand the public has a stereotyped bad girl image of her? Maybe that's why she is getting married in this way. The grooms came to HER, not the other way around. If Elesh is genuine, and he came for her, how can we make the statement she isn't good enough for him? Usko to pata hoga who is good enough for him! He's the one who came on her swayamvar. He said he was attracted to her honesty. What's wrong with that?

Maybe there are people in the world who consider Rakhi a desirable life partner or bahu. Just because some of us can't agree doesn't mean we should say they "deserve better." What is better? What does the adarsh bahu look like? Like Aishwarya Bachchan? Someone prim and proper? Who says everything nice in front of the camera?

Of course Rakhi is not going to act like her whole life went in preparation of being a pageant queen, knowing how to give the right answers, and perfecting the right accent. She is crude, she is often inarticulate, but she has spent her whole life struggling, providing for her family, warding off lecherous men with slippers. If on an English forum so many people think she is an "improper" woman, can you imagine how many common people, including lecherous boys and men or male chauvinist pigs, must treat her like crap all the time just because she is an item girl or dancer? So I'm sure that toughened her up, she has to act rude and crude.

I hope girls will look up to the bold qualities in her. After withstanding so many insults from people, she believes she is a person who deserves respect. We should learn not to put stock in everything people say, everything society says about what is right and what is wrong.

Before saying, "so-and-so deserves better than Rakhi," let's think, "what does a girl like Rakhi deserve?" My answer is she deserves respect and to be treated equally, not as if there is a flaw in her because of her career.

I so agree with you Arti...!!!! I fail to understand why people have to look down upon her only because she is an ITEM GIRL...???
The people who think low of her are in a position to do so only because they have never been in her place...!!! Some of us may not even have the guts to stand up against everyone and make a place for ourselves...!!!
I simply hate it wen people form their opinions only on the basis of her profession ...!!!

good topic....hope this makes some people understand that she is not bad because she is an item girl....even malaika arora khan is an iten girl...but nobody comments on her like they do on rakhi....but even though rakhi has been commented for being an item girl she has faced each n every time very bravely....if tomorrow say someone comments on malaika for being an item girl..i dont think she wud even come out of her house...she wud stay at home and not even defend herself...but rakhi...hats off to her for her so much courage that she defends herself so bravely...really nobody is so brave courageous like rakhi who can defend themselves when they are insulted or criticized

Arti, great post dear! Rakhi deserves respect and happiness in her life as much as everyone else. I have come to like her after this show. I didn't know her history or anything. I have only heard that she is "item girl" and nothing else. She is a spitfire for sure and honest to the core. Hopefully she will settle down after marriage and I wish her all the happiness in the world.

Thanks for posting your comments, all. I agree Dhara, I would not be able to handle the situations she has handled. Waise my family and friends all think I am talkative and all that, but if I were faced with a truly bad situation, I would feel too scared to do anything.

Ahana, that's the thing I too don't get. People don't have a problem with many actresses who do the same thing, but it's Rakhi they don't like because of her crudeness, she interrupts people, speaks bad English. Yeah, she does, but all of that just reflects the bad times and circumstances she has had to fight through in life.

Mallika, thanks! Yeah I hope she settles down after too, and is surrounded by good people. I think she wants to become a businesswoman, so I hope that works out for her. She also said she may enter politics one day to be a true and honest politician.. we'll see if she does that too!

forget about male chauvinist pigs ...I find it so cruel when some so called cultured and sanskari WOMEN try to humiliate her in such a derogatory language.. they themselves behave so cheaply while calling her cheap or dramaqueen.... at least she is what she is because of lack of proper education and protective family support .. but what excuse do these educated, cultured people have when they behave in such a crude, indecent way to mock her in worst possible manner.
Can't believe that some "supposed to be educated and classy" people actually got nerve to wish so bad for her that they already talking about her divorce. 🤢 or keep talking about what she deserves and what not.. who knows what kind of people they are in their real life... as if they deserve everything best for themselves in their life.. and Rakhi is the only one on this earth who has to suffer all her life and bear such crap from so called educated and sophisticated people.

True every word Arti.

This is the problem with the most desi mentality...they focus too much on their outside appearance and not much on the person itself. Rakhi Sawant is a name created herself, billions of people struggle every day, every night to create a name for themselves in the glamour world. Its not as easy as putting jam on your toast, it requires persistently sweating themselves,, it requires commitment and dedication to their job so that they can start with pennies and watch it grow into pounds and that does not happen in one day..it requires months and years to create such a status, to create such a sizzling name in the glamour world.

Doctors, lawyers, engineers type of careers is only seen respectable anything less than that is degradable, disgusting, cheap, low-profile job...the most under-rated profession is the profession which requires art. Art has always been under-estimated, looked down, humiliated at, let it be the art of singing, the art of painting, the art of dancing or the art of acting....majority of the desi mind-set would degrade art as it requires more creativity than brain and somehow always involves cheap methods to create a name for themselves.

Dancing is Rakhi's passion, its her survival...her dance move is what feeds her and her family...God Himself has given her the gift of dancing..and when God gifts you with something, you should use it and others should respect the gift...not put them down because her clothes are slightly less than accepted in the traditional, orthodox family. Grow up. learn. and move on in life...if you cling onto such thoughts then life is gonne become tad too difficult to live and thats what rakhi did...she is bold and confident and past such thoughts....i am impressed the way she has handled herself at such a young age.....Respect is everyone's right, its rakhi's right..everyone's right.
