Elesh Parujanwala

Popular votes pin him as the favourite dulha for Rakhi Sawant. Elesh Parujanwala, the cute businessman from Toronto, Canada, first made waves on the show with his 'Angrezi' accent and mannerisms.

On 'Rakhi Ka Swayamvar', bride-in-waiting Rakhi has currently chosen the final four suitors from the 16 finalists that were short-listed from the thousands.

We get Elesh Parujanwala talking about the show:

What prompted you to take part in 'Rakhi Ka Swayamvar'?

The fact that the girls in Toronto are very different from the girls in India. They don't want to invest time in building a relationship. Moreover, I was setting up a new business with a friend in Mumbai for which I have to live in Mumbai for six months in a year. I knew Rakhi before I participated in the show... and that helped. And most importantly, I feel I'm mentally and physically ready to get married.

How was the whole experience on the show? Especially meeting Rakhi in person for the first time?

It was too good to be true. It was just like a fairy tale and I was completely on a roll! I remember when I first went out for a date with Rakhi, she was looking stunning! And the one thing that I kept wondering was, "What is she thinking?"

Has life changed after the show?

I really can't say because the show is still on. Besides, I haven't gone out much on the streets since the show has started.

Have you acquired a newfound celebrity status, thanks to all the publicity?

I still feel like a common man.

Who do you think is the strongest contender on the show?

You are talking to him (laughs).

What do you think is your USP?

Sheer confidence and the strong back-up from my family.

If given a chance, would you consider a career in showbiz?

I understand that this (showbiz) is a volatile profession where one day you are at the zenith and the next day you are nowhere. It requires a lot of hard work and dedication, which Rakhi has also put in to reach this far. If an offer comes my way, I am ready to give it a shot!

Would you consider taking part in another reality show?

I might consider it, if it doesn't conflict with my business and doesn't keep me away from it for long, as that's my main objective. And that fact that my partner should be agreeable to the idea of me taking part in a reality show.

What is that one thing that you like most about Rakhi?

Check out thispromo video:

I can't believe this guy had SEVEN girlfriends! Wow, and he actually admitted it.. kind of sweet that he admitted it, but it does make you think twice about how committed he will be to Rakhi! Let's hope that Pandit's prediction about his loyalty was right..

Rakhi meets her Sasural walon in Toronto through Video Conferencing

While Rakhi went to visit the families of the contestants in Rishikesh and New Delhi, Elesh's family back in Canada could not make it to Mumbai to meet their would be bahu due to visa problems. But, our NRI beau from Canada refused to accept defeat so easily. Therefore to surprise Rakhi he made all arrangements so that Rakhi could meet and interact with his family in Canada through video-conferencing.

Rakhi was totally zapped by the technical advancement that has turned the world into a global village. She was completely thrilled and her excitement was evident during her conversation with Elesh's family and friends.

She spoke to Elesh's parents and grandmother in Gujarati. Rakhi also shares the recipe of "daal dhokdi" with Elesh's mother who in turn gave her full marks for her culinary skills. They also told her that they would be happy if she wore jeans in the house. Rakhi was at her enchanting best and successfully managed to impress her would-be in laws.

Hi - actually, his mom looks familiar to me like this woman who sings at community events ... not sure if it's the same lady or I am imagining things ... Markham is just driving distance from Toronto - and most of the people in surrounding suburbs usually spend weekends and evenings in Toronto - so was looking at the pictures to see if knew anyone from school or university!

Oh really? Wouldn't that be funny if you knew any of them.. too close to home!

I looked in the photo too to see if anyone looked familiar. I live in GTA but far from Markham.

Today - we found out that Elesh's family are Krishna Bhakts - his sister's name is Vrinda! That's cool. So, I looked up Elesh to find out what it means and it means King.
I liked his family more than Manas's family - or Chittiz's family - maybe because they are Canadian. I just felt like they were people I knew! It would be so nice if she married Elesh!

Yeah his family was really nice, weren't they? I liked how his mom's criteria was that her bahu should believe in God. It was a really sweet and heartfelt thing to say.
