As the sun rose Asad came out of his room and went straight to hers. He opened the door gently to see if she was still asleep. Asad's eyes widened as he realised her bed was still made, quickly opening the door he called out her name, as he looked around he saw her lying curled up on the floor in the far corner. 'Zoya' he screamed out as he ran towards her 'Zoya...wake up, are you ok' her swollen tear stained face pinched him hard 'Zoya...please...what is happening...Ammi...Ammi' he screamed out.

As everyone came running towards him they saw Zoya lying limp in his arms. This time Zack pulled out the car and they rushed her to the hospital. The doctors took her straight in and left them all standing outside going absolutely crazy with worry.

When the doctor came out he went running towards him 'what happened to her is she ok?' 'Yes, she is, it seems like she had an anxiety attack and then passed out, she seems extremely disturbed, she refuses to talk' 'Doctor, can I please go in and see her' 'yes you can...but Mr Khan if at any point she becomes distressed I would advise you leave her alone, I have asked the psychiatrist to come and see her in the afternoon, I am just going to make arrangements for the scan now' 'thank you'.

Asad walked in to see the nurse pouring some water for her. Zoya looked up at him and hitched a painful breath 'nurse, I will take over' he said keeping his eyes on her' Zoya averted her gaze as he came closer. Taking the glass from the nurse he waited until she left before he turned towards her.

Taking small steps he reached her bedside, lifting the glass he held it up 'have some water Zoya' Zoya closed her eyes as her heart started to accelerate, as soon as he saw her body shake he quickly put the glass down 'Zoya what's wrong...please tell me...what happened...please Zoya, it is killing me seeing you like this' Zoya slowly turned around, the anguish that he felt was very evident in his moist eyes, Asad was on the verge of breaking down.

With a great deal of hesitation Asad inched his hand forwards to place over hers, as soon as his fingers brushed over her skin Zoya quickly withdrew her hand. At that point the tears that he held escaped his eyes 'Zoya' he whispered in an emotion filled voice 'I need you to go...I ...I need Annie' she said turning away from him completely.

Asad stood up dejectedly; he took a few steps back before he turned around and walked out. Asad soon as he stepped outside he fell to the floor. Zack, Maheen and Annie came running towards him 'Asad...what happened?' 'I don't know Ammi...she won't even look at me...Ammi I cant take this anymore...I want my Zoya back, I want my Zoya back' Maheen hugged her son and let him cry against her chest 'let me go in' Zack said 'No' Asad almost shouted 'No Zack, she wants Annie...Annie please...' Annie placed her hand over his shoulder 'don't worry Bhaijaan, please...we always draw our strength from you...if you give up now or break down then what will happen to us...please be strong'

Annie took in a deep breath and opened the door. Zoya shuffled in her position to sit up a little. Annie tried to smile at her but couldn't as every part of her wanted to scream out.

Annie sat down next to her on the bed 'are you ok?' she asked not quite sure what else to say. Zoya fell forwards into her arms and started crying out loud. Asad heard her screams and jumped up 'Asad no...don't go...let her get it out of her system beta...she needs to' Asad looked at his Ammi helplessly 'why is Allah testing us like this...what did we ever do wrong?' He cried out, Maheen didn't know what to say, there was nothing she could say that would console her sons aching heart.

Inside Annie let Zoya cry as much as she needed, she held her dearly, comforted her in every way she could. As she started to calm down she pulled back 'I'm sorry...' Annie started shaking her head 'no Zoya, you never need to be sorry for anything...we are here for you no matter what...' Annie wiped her tears; giving her a smile she picked up the glass of water and made her drink some.

'You want to tell me what happened?' Zoya took her hand into hers 'can you promise me that you will keep it to yourself' Annie nodded 'I promise Zoya...whatever it is I will help you work it out'

Wiping her face Zoya raked her fingers through her hair as she let out a deep breath.

'Annie...what is my relationship with Asad?' Annie looked up at her 'please don't say he is my best friend...please tell me...what I saw yesterday, the pictures the messages...who is he to me Annie?'

Annie swallowed hard, she didn't know if she should or even could tell Zoya 'Annie please, I beg you please tell me, who is Asad to me?'

Annie took her hand back into hers and shuffled closer 'you want the truth Zoya...then I will tell you' Annie went on to retell Zoya's life for the past two years just as Zack and her had told her not so long ago but this time she added in all the missing parts, everything from the way they first met, how he had fallen in love with her, how she came running after him to India and how on New Year's Eve he got down on one knee and proposed to her.

'I am his fianc?' she said trying not to cry 'Yes, you are' 'he loves me...and I love him...' Zoya hid her face in her hands as she couldn't hold back any longer 'shhh...please Zoya don't cry...you don't understand how he is coping...he dies a thousand deaths every minute, he knows you have no memory...and the biggest fear he has is that it will never come back and he will never get his Zoya back' 'I wish...I wish I could remember Annie' she said between her heart wrenching sobs 'I know sweetie, I know...' 'Annie...please don't tell him I know...I need to get my head around this' 'I promised Zoya...I won't tell him...but can you at least let him know you are ok...he won't take anyone else's word for it'

Zoya was just about to reply when the doctor came in 'Miss Farooqui, we are ready to take you for your scan' Annie stood up and helped Zoya out of the bed, seeing her stumble a little Annie grabbed her hand 'doctor, can we get a wheelchair please' 'sure'.

Annie came out with Zoya, Maheen and Zack walked up to her 'everything will be ok beta...dont worry' Maheen said placing her hand over her head. Zack knelt down, he picked up her hand and kissed the back of it 'I love you Sis...you ok?' Zoya gave him a faint smile 'I will be' was all she said. As the porter started to push her she looked around but couldn't see him, her insides pinched her making her almost wince in pain.

'What did she say Annie?' Zack asked her 'not much, I guess she just need to cry out...where is Bhaijaan?' 'I'm here Annie' Annie turned around and instantly put her arms around him. Just as she was about to say something reassuring Asad's phone started to ring, it was the Inspector.

As Asad spoke to him his whole demeanor started to change, his eyes hardened, his jaw clenched and his body stood stiff I am on my way inspector' Asad looked up towards Zack 'Zack get the lawyer to meet us at the police station in half an hour...they got her'.

Asad and Zack left Maheen and Annie with Zoya and left to go to the police station.

Asad and Zack walked in and the moment they say Safa in the police cell behind the inspector their blood started boiling. Asad walked towards her 'the only thing that stops me for killing you with my bare hands is the fact that you are a woman...actually you are not even that...you are a despicable, heartless lump of flesh that deserves to rot in hell...what you did Safa, not even Allah will forgive you for...why Safa...why? He roared at her' Safa refused to look up at him as she shook in a fear filled state 'Bhaijaan...she is not worth talking to...come' Zack said pulling him away from her.

Asad sat down 'Mr Khan, we managed to catch up with her in the early hours of the morning, she was packing to leave the country, we are lucky to have caught her when we did...she has admitted to her hideous crime...' 'Inspector, she does not get bail...I mean it...I will make sure that my lawyer has her put away for a long time' 'don't worry Mr Khan, you said your lawyer is on his way...I will meet with him and fill him in with the details' Asad turned towards Zack 'can you stay...and meet with him...I want to get back to...' 'You go ahead Bhaijaan; I will come as soon as I finish here'

By the time Asad had got back Zoya was back in her room with Annie and Maheen. Asad refrained from going in; he may not know exactly what was going on in her head but he knew that it definitely had something to do with him.

Annie caught a glimpse of him outside 'Bhaijaan' she whispered. Maheen and Zoya looked towards the door but saw no one 'is Asad back?' Maheen asked 'Khala...I just saw him outside...one second' Annie stepped outside to see him sitting on the chair with his head held in his hands 'Bhaijaan' she called out. Asad stood up 'Annie...how is she, did the scan go ok?' 'Yes, it did...we are just waiting for the psychiatrist to come...what happened?' Asad told her that Safa had been caught and had admitted to her crime '...Zack will be here soon...has she had anything to eat...shall I get something for you guys?' Annie started smiling 'I think we are ok for the minute...Ammi and Kaki are busy making something...Ammi pushed back their flight by a few days' 'that's good, in all of this I had totally forgotten that Ammi and Khala were leaving today' 'Bhaijaan, why don't you come inside?' Asad took in a deep breath 'No Annie...whatever is going on with her has definitely got something to do with me...the way she was before...I don't want her to put herself under any unnecessary stress because of me...it will be better if I stay away from her' 'No Bhaijaan...how will that help...please, you need to be around her' 'Annie...just for now, let her meet with the psychiatrist, when she is ready I will be here'

Annie walked back in 'is he ok?' Maheen asked 'Yes, just making a few phone calls' 'what happened at the station?' 'Safa has been caught and officially charged, she will stay in jail until the trial I guess...Zack is with the lawyer at the moment'

Zoya looked at them blankly, she had no memory of the girl who was evil enough to put her in here, she didn't know if she was relieved or not, whether it made a difference to her or not.

After an hour Zack returned to the hospital, Asad had asked him to bring some sandwiches for everyone. As Zack pulled them out of the bag Annie saw Zoya's eyes travel back to the door 'Zack, where is Bhaijaan's...call him in' 'He isn't here...he said he needed to do a few things back at the office'.

Zoya swallowed the lump that quickly formed in her throat; she knew that he had left because of her.

'Miss Farooqui, the psychiatrist is here' Zoya looked towards Annie who gave her a reassuring smile 'I will be here when you get back...good luck'.

Zoya was taken into another room 'Zoya...hi, my name is Dr Reema' she said holding her hand out, Zoya shook her hand please, sit' she said gesturing towards the empty chair opposite.

Zoya started to feel nervous 'please Zoya, no need to feel nervous, these sessions are very informal, although I will be making note of what you say, we will go at a pace you are comfortable with. This is your first one so I won't time it, we can go on for as long as you wish...however, any follow up session will be timed to an hour'

Zack had taken Maheen back home leaving Annie to wait for Zoya.

'Bhaijaan, what are you doing in the office?' 'Annie, you know I have the Banglore conference coming up, I needed to prepare for it, straight after I am due to go to Pune' 'I thought you were delegating that to Dev and the other team' 'I was...but with the conference...I...I think I should go' Annie knew what he was doing, he was trying to run away from her 'Bhaijaan, Zoya needs you' 'No Annie, she needs to be away from me...for some reason I...' Asad let out a deep sigh 'Annie...it's only for a few days' Annie didn't argue back, there was little she could say to him without breaking her promise to Zoya.

As she waited for her to return Annie tried to think of how she could get them come together, with Zoya knowing the truth she had a lot more on her side, all she needed to do was play cupid again, somehow.

Zoya came out of her session looking a lot calmer 'I am ready to go home now' she said 'Annie looked at her 'has the doctor discharged you?' 'Not officially...but I am ok now...I want to go home'.

Annie called for the doctor, who said it was ok for Zoya to go home but asked her to come back in a few days' time to meet with him again. 'Zoya, you get changed, I will let Bhaijaan know that we are going back home'

Asad felt relief wash over him 'that's good...wait there, I will get Zack to come and pick you up' 'he is at home Bhaijaan...you are closer, can you not come...or send Ramu' 'no...its ok, I will come'

Asad knocked on the door before he walked in, looking straight at Zoya he gave her a faint smile, which she reciprocated 'I am ready if you are' he said looking towards Annie 'yep...we are, let's go' Asad held the door open for them and then followed them out.

Zoya couldn't keep his eyes off of him, he looked exhausted, she wanted to say something but couldn't find anything that would make sense.

Zoya showered and changed before she came back outside to meet with everyone properly. Kaki laid the table for her come and eat Zoya, I made your favorite' Zoya gave her a loving smile 'thank you Kaki'. Just as she was about to sit she saw Asad walk back towards the lift and before she could even blink he was gone again.

Zoya spent a long time going through all of her things; her belongings had finally arrived by cargo. She picked up a frame that had a picture of her and Asad in it, even though she couldn't remember she smiled to see how happy they looked 'Ya Allah, if my love for him was as strong as Annie said it was then please let me remember something...please Allah, let something come back to me'. It took her over an hour to put everything away after which she lay down falling asleep straight away.
