How?

How is it possible for Rehaan to not hear what Sunehri and Tanveet were saying?? He was standing RIGHT THERE!! Yeah, ok, maybe he didn't hear every single thing they said but he must have heard something!! I think it's kind of impossible to zone people out completely when you're on the phone.. So he HAD to have heard something they said!!
