Characters that are not entirely white or black are characters that are entertaining because in real life we hardly come across purely white or purely black characters. Everyone has a bit of grey in them, whether we acknowledge it or not. Aahil is arrogant, haughty, quick to anger, impulsive but he's also the guy who gave Sanam the money and while it could be because he wanted to trap her, he could have easily done it in other ways. We see he is a good son, a good brother, a good grandson, a good boss, considering Lateef raves about his character.
For every fault of Aahil, it is not that Sanam is any less, she was prejudiced, because she saw him as a casanova and while he was a casanova, the girl he was dallying with seems to have no problems with it. He's honest to a fault and that inherently seems to be the problem.
I like Rehaan, even though I am not usually drawn to characters that are absolute because they are unbelievable to me but for me, he needs a pairing where we can draw some fire from him as opposed to him walking behind Sanam with nary a complaint or a problem. It makes for boring viewing. I am assuming post his heart break, we might see Seher (probably a more vivacious and outgoing character than Sanam) to heal his broken heart.
And like someone mentioned, why is someone deserving of Sanam, Sanam has a mind of her own, if its Aahil with all his faults and problems, that Sanam wants, then it will be Aahil-Sanam.
Relationships and love is not a contest and sometimes we don't understand why certain relationships work.
