You wanna experience a harsh winter??? Try living in Canada, I had to walk to my school at 7 in the morning when it was -45 degrees outside, the snow was up to my damn knees, I swear I saw a snowman shivering.

This confuses me yet intrigues me. So the two are far from each other and are in pain I got that part. You wrote about their pain VERY nicely, it was well described and sent the message of how they felt nicely.
