Word..They become glorified doormats who lose all sense of self-preservation just because they are in love with this extremely abusive guy who is in dire need of a shrink😆 OTT & bubbly female lead, arrogant male lead with a dark past, they keep abusing and misunderstanding each other, subconsciously fall in love, guy becomes more abusive to push her away, insert random MU, hate or revenge or contract marriage takes place, then he falls in love, says a sorry and is redeemed in half an epi, they consummate and live happily ever after😆

Cut, copy. paste of every Gul Khan script..I still watch her shows though, so the joke is on me😆

Why do I get the feelin' that this might be a BETA movie remake?
(When was that 80s? 90s? sorry..was too young...cannot remember..)

Somehow lead pair get married and the real story then begins.
It is not the love-story (it never is, in Gul's shows, except Geet) though Gul does try to make it appear so and does a not too bad job of the romance aspect...

The real story will be the one-upmanship vis a vis BETA between MIL and DIL (Tunveer and S)...all auntyjis will be happy and ARI will be reduced to what all other soap male leads become...furniture.

But Aahil isn't exactly naive or innocent like Anil Kapoor was in Beta..He blindly worships his mom though but thats something all 4 Lions' leads do😆 Maan was obsessed with his daadi, ASR with his di and Asad with his brother & mom😆 And am totally not looking forward to Tannu hogging all the screen time😆

Shades of BETA are seen in the way Tunveer has molded ARI to blindly do her bidding, and made her own son (the other guy, whathisname?) seem innocent but have a 'Blood Will Tell' caveat introduced later, much later in the story...

With each show, progressively, Gul has conformed to the norm of soap-land, so catering to high TRP audience is definitely seen nowadays...the change from love-stories that were so touching - Geet...to IPK, (somewhat) to QH1 (started out as such and devolved very quickly into family drama), to QH2 - complete family drama now, paints a clear graph.

If she does not follow that route, I would be happy...but soap-land and Gul have always promised and never delivered...
As you say, 'SUCKAH!', must be written on our foreheads.

Oh yes..How can i forget that Gul declared she cant cater to high class realism😆 Logic, sense and self respect is high class realism in Gul's dictionary😆

I absolutely love her scenes with Lateefa bhaji..eh I mean Lateef bhai.

And the scene with the press.


Her crying! Which was not at all overly done!


And then came REHAN! And she was still subtly crying and was so firm.


And of course show stealer scene! With Aahil! Yes we were given yet another awesome face off!

Awesome!!


I love all her lines!


Especially the Mohabbat, Insaniyat and Jazbaat ones!!

I was reminded of Zoya (and by default Asad)...there's a difference though.
