The hotel management had every security officer every member of staff going crazy looking for Zoya. RJ and Lillie were totally panic stricken 'we need to inform the authorities' RJ said 'is it possible that Zoya has been taken?' Lillie said with her whole body shaking.
RJ swallowed hard 'I don't now Lillie, I hope not'. With majority of the film crew gone RJ found himself on his own. 'Sir, there is a man downstairs asking for Ms Zoya Farooqui' RJ ran downstairs into reception and stood still 'Hey, RJ...how are you...I thought I would come and surprise Zoya' RJ looked at Asad totally dumbfounded, what was he going to say how was he going to tell him that Zoya was missing.
RJ reluctantly took Asad's hand to shake 'I told Zoya that I was going to surprise her a few days ago...where is she?' Lillie who was standing a few feet away stepped forward 'your surprise was this...I mean coming here to see her?' Asad nodded 'so it wasn't the roses?' Asad looked at her confused 'roses...what roses I didn't send any'. Lillie felt a cold air wash over her; she ran to the receptionist and asked her to give the roses Zoya left with her the night before. She picked them up and took them to RJ and Asad 'these ones...you didn't send them?' Asad shook his head he picked up the note and read it. His whole body stiffened 'RJ, where is Zoya...these flowers...who sent them?'
Lillie started crying 'we don't know...we thought these were from you, she said they were the surprise you were talking about...and now she is...' Asad grabbed Lillie by the shoulder 'now what Lillie...where is Zoya?' Lillie gulped as she felt his hands tighten. RJ came and placed his hand on his shoulder 'Asad, we don't know where Zoya is...' RJ explained everything that had happened, he himself was aware of Zoya being stalked in India but never did he think that whoever this person was would follow her here.
Asad started to freak out, RJ did all he could to calm him down. They sat down and went through everything they could think of, starting from when they set off 3 weeks ago.
'I don't understand, we never told anyone that Zoya was coming to South Africa, Ayaan told everyone she was going to Goa...then how did he know' RJ looked at Asad and then stood up 'one minute...the days we left...on the plane I called my office and was told that someone was enquiring about our trip...and the worker...I mean my colleague he did tell who ever this person was that we were coming to here...it could be him'.
As Asad and RJ were talking a police inspector came to talk to them 'don't worry Mr Khan...we will find your fianc...I have spoken to the hotel manager, he will be giving me a list of all the people that were working last night, people who were catering for your party' Asad and RJ went to meet the manager and the members of staff from the night before.
RJ and Lillie looked at everyone and then it struck 'the waiter...where is the waiter?' RJ asked the manager here sir, these two men were looking after the bar' RJ looked at them 'No, the Asian guy...where is he?' the manager looked at RJ 'sorry sir, you must have been mistaken the main restaurant only deployed these two to cover your party, there was no one else' RJ turned around to Asad 'Asad, I was served by a guy, he was definitely Indian, he referred to Zoya as my lady love...I corrected him saying she was not...it has to be him...the drink...after Zoya drank the pineapple juice she started to feel sick...he must have tampered with it...' Asad looked at the inspector and 'I want that man found and I want Zoya back in one piece unharmed...I swear to God inspector if anything happens to her, your immigration authority will be extremely sorry for letting me through' he said with a deadly voice. 'Mr Khan we are going to check through the hotel's security cameras, I assure you we will find her'.
Asad sat with RJ and Lillie in the room Zoya was staying in 'I can't believe this is happening...I am going to kill him, the minute I get my hands on that...' Asad was interrupted by a knock at the door. Lillie opened the door to see the manager, the inspector and another hotel worker standing there, she let them in 'Mr Khan, this is Robert, he was on duty last night and he saw your fianc...Robert tell them what you saw'.
'Mr Khan, I was doing my last round before I finished my shift I saw Ms Farooqui, she was being held by a man, I asked him if she was ok and he laughed saying that she was drunk and he was taking her back to his room...she did look drunk...but at the same time she kept trying to push him away...the man said she was his wife and was a little upset with him, I just let them be I didn't think any more of it' 'the room...what room did he take her to?' 'I don't know' Robert said looking to the manager.
'Mr Khan we have checked our records, we would like you to have a look, if you say that Ms Farooqui was being harassed in India, you may recognise a name. RJ and Asad followed the manager to his office where he opened the hotels electronic records of all the guests.
Asad and RJ sat down and went through the lists 'this is going to take forever Asad' RJ said 'no...we need to be clever...narrow the search down, the person if it is the same guy must have checked in after you guys...so put in a date range that shows all the guest that checked in after you guys did'.
Having changed the date range the computer pulled out all the guest that had checked in and out of the hotel over the last three weeks. The list narrowed down to 75 people, As they started to look Asad's phone started to ring 'Ammi...Asalaam O Alaikum' 'Asad beta, you were supposed to contact me as soon as you reached it been almost a day...what are you like...how is Zoya give her the phone' Asad stood frozen as Dilshad continued to talk, he wasn't sure whether he should let her know or not, he looked at RJ and mouthed Ammi to him, RJ shook his head as if to say don't tell them anything yet. Asad made up and excuse saying Zoya had gone to see the shoot of the movie and wouldn't be back for another few hours.
'Asad, there is no one here that stands out...it is possible that he used a different name...our best bet is the hotel security camera's we can only hope that they caught a glimpse of him...I know I would recognise him anywhere' just then Asad had a brain wave 'RJ...hang on one minute' Asad took his phone and walked outside.
'Ayaan...it's me Leo, I need you to do me a favour...'
'Asad...you know who it is don't you?' Lillie asked in a bleak voice 'yes...I mean I think I know who it is, am actually hoping it is the same person otherwise...' 'you know first we made a joke of it, when she kept getting flowers at work, then when we saw her so upset, almost scared we realised how much it was affecting her...I hope we find her soon'.
Asad sipped through his drink that RJ made him take, since his arrival, he hadn't touch a grain of food nor drunk anything. Asad closed his eyes as tiredness had started to seep through but it didn't last long as Ayaan called him 'Leo, I have just emailed you what I could get...I don't like the idea of you being there on your own, do you want me to come?' 'No Ayaan, it will raise too many questions, I can't afford Ammi and Abu going crazy on me I need to concentrate...you just keep by your phone I will keep you posted...and Ayaan find her and make her tell you...do whatever you have to I know she will know everything'.
Asad opened his email and then the attachment Ayaan sent. 'RJ, is this the waiter?' RJ looked up at Asad wide eyed 'yes...that's him...is that...' 'Yes, that is Farhaan'.
