No one would hire a person who comes with an expiry date especially when they are put into important positions in the project. No matter how good they are in their job.
There is a reason the HR people always ask interviewees where they see themselves in the next 5-10 years. Or what their long term career goals are.

Exactly, employee and employer will strike a contract with an underlying goodwill that they will continue with the relationship unless there is a drastic change in current dynamics or creative differences. No sense in taking an actor for a pivotal role when his other priorities are firm and his commitment is short term irrespective of the impressive resume. It is understandable that some times priorities change and makes it inevitable to part ways but knowingly taking a person who is going to quit shortly is beyond my comprehension or it could be the case that we only know half truth.

@bold - I don't think this PH would have knowingly take any actor who would want to quit. Just imagine, just then they had to shut shop one successful running serial and immediately the next moment they wouldn't make such a foolishness.
Forget about half truth, I doubt whether what we know is the truth itself. No one has given any concrete statement or taken any legal action or given a press conference.

Yes, there is no legal action by either parties but both KSG and Zee head gave interviews to media but ya details are conflicting and not adding up, it could be half truth or complete lie.

We are drawing our own conclusions by reading interviews and it seems no one knows the complete truth.

One thing is sure that no one will take an actor knowing that he will leave and that too not once but twice ...some thing is missing here.

Gite and Go4welkin (I sitll don't know what to call you) -
I had the same argument as you that why would anyone want to jeopardize their own pet project by hiring leads on short term contracts. It made no sense to me.
The truth point is also true. All that we know for sure is that he is sick and undergoing treatment. Rest is all he said she said, atleast to me.
However to counter the business sense, the lack of a statement from Gul, who is Karan's good friend since DMG days, is absurd to me. And then the way the show is being rushed indicating a wrap is another thing that makes me doubt the woman in charge. It's almost like she has given up on the show that she once believed in.
She gave up on IPK too. So kinda comes off to me as a quitter, no offence meant.

Its all messed up. And in the end the only losers are the viewers and fans. Coz the industry is a family and they will all work with each other and be pals when needed.

I prefer to be called Go4welkin 😊.

I actually feel Gul is in difficult position here, in other words, stuck between rock and a hard place. At least in this case I feel sympathetic towards her. One side a good friend with health issues hampering the extension on commitment and on the other end the channel, which launched her show.

As a QH fan I felt betrayed initially but eventually realized that it is just a show and as far as it entertains me, I will stick with it irrespective of the actors.

Yes I too sympathise with Gul.
She can't support either parties. When no channel was ready to take qh, zee was the only channel ready and they gave it one of the hottest time slot.
Gul always (ok not always) gives the best, but never gets her due.

This is my first Gul show...actually first Indian tele show, so not sure of her earlier works but QH was kick ass until June and her casting skills are excellent and she needs a pat on her back for that...why couldn't she sustain the show popularity is up for debate.
