There are lessons to be learned here but no one ever learns anything in the wild and undisciplined world of ITV !
The problem starts with the channels that think they are supreme and everyone ..the PH,the actors and the unfortunate viewers are bonded labour.The statement ( if it is genuine) by the channel that they will take KSG to court sounds like a threat and smacks of their high-handedness.These czars who control ITV must be put in the dock to clean up the act ..the sooner the better.
The actor is not a commodity that can be bartered,milked and then abandoned at the slightest sign of a protest ! This same KSG who was being eulogised and praised to the skies till the Ajmer track when he battled the severest weather conditions to perform so credibly is now reduced to dust with a mere few words denigrating him.He is now being called unprofessional !!!!
What exactly is unprofessional about what he has done? He joins QH as the lead and works sincerely for a year giving credence to the character of Asad.QH reached the heights of popularity solely because of his personification of the character and believe me no other actor will be able to replace his charisma however talented.He is Asad and will always remain so for all the viewers ..even for the naysayers.
I do not understand those who have have started fixing blame on him and even going so far as to mention his personal life which really has nothing to do with his talent which has been milked to the hilt raise the bar for QH for over a year.
My respect for KSG goes up for showing the courage to protest against the mighty ...the Channel's dictatorship. An actor has to be appreciated and recognised for his talent and contribution to any show and not be treated like a puppet performing to strange twists and turns in the script. It all started from the weird MQK track and continues unabated. Whatever happened to the original theme of 'brother's face off' ? Ayaan is in London sending text msgs and Asad is communicating by phone ...what a face off !
Who exactly is unprofessional here ? I do not think the Channel knows the meaning of the word PROFESSIONAL ! If they did the first step they would take is to ensure a COMPLETE & BOUND SCRIPT that would wipe out all the confusion that reigns in the television industry.They are not inclined to do that but continue to stretch any popular show like a chewing gum till it snaps altogether ..and then the blame game begins.
Who is the biggest loser here ? It is the viewers for sure ..as they are the ones who provide the support.They give hours of their time to watch a serial and then suddenly the rug is pulled from under their feet and they are left high and dry.No one cares for them although they are the ones who garnered the TRPs that the channels vie for.The channels, blinded by their own importance do not recognise this at all ..they are on such an ego trip. But the audience will teach them the lesson without doubt.It has happened before ..I have been witness to it ..in the sad case of KTLK ...where is Sony today in the ranking game ?
