~|| AsYa OS ~ Three Words, a Life Changed ||~

He watched the bitter tears cascade down her cheeks, as she squeezed her eyes shut. His eyes moved and placed themselves on the half packed suitcase beside her, on the bed. Somewhere right then, he felt a painful stab at his heart. He clenchedhis fists,as tears made way to his own eyes. Didn't he want this? Then why on Earth was he fighting the urge to stop her, when he found her nothing but trouble for himself and his family. He heard a voice in his head, screaming with all its might, "Go and stop her, you idiot! Tell you don't want her to leave! Tell Zoya that you love her!" Asad shut his eyes tight, a clenched his fist even harder, trying his best to convince himself that he didn't have any sort of feelings for her. It seemed like, just to contradict him, the night when they were stuck in the farm house came rushing to his mind. They'd been so...close. He couldn't shove that away as mere physical attraction.

He snapped out of his thoughts, when heard a familiar voice ask, "What are you doing here Mr. Khan?" He'd unknowingly been standing at her room door for the past ten minutes. He quickly looked away, as realization dawned upon him. Without meeting her eyes, he stoically replied, "Woh...mein...I just came to ask you, when you are leaving, because I thought I could drop you off in the airport." Zoya bit her lower lip as she tried to keep her tears from falling. "Five 'o' clock.", she replied as she turned away from him. Asad stared at her for a few seconds, fighting an inner battle of his own. He reluctantly let out, "Ok, I'll be ready at five."

He turned back to leave, but he stopped, as Zoya's hurt voice rung in his ears, "Is that all you wanted to say?" Asad turned back around to face her, she looked absolutely heart broken and shattered, her eyes full of despair. He asked, "What else do you want me to say?" Words refused to leave her mouth, there was so much she wanted tell him, yet she felt like she was being strangled. She managed to say, "So, there was nothing else?" After a seconds, Asad whispered, as his voice cracked, "Even if I did want to say something else, how would it make a difference?" Zoya looked down at the floor, as she said, "It will, Mr. Khan...for me, it will." "How?", he asked. Zoya looked into his eyes, unable to answer him. Unable to stop himself, he asked, "If I say that there is something else, would it stop you from leaving?"

Zoya's widened, as Asad took a step a closer to her, "Would it change anything between us?" Zoya's eyes wandered frantically in every direction, apart from Asad, as he came closer to her. Before he knew it, his hands had made their way to her pale cheeks and caressed them, as both his thumbs worked at wiping her tears away. Zoya's eyes met with his, a surge of emotions Asad couldn't place, rushed through his blood. He didn't know if it was something to call good, or trouble, but at that moment, he couldn't care about anything else. As much as he hated to admit, he knew he'd fell in love with the very woman he'd once sworn to hate. He slowly asked, his words a small whisper, "Would the fact that you're the only woman who has a place in my heart, apart from ammi and Najma, stop you from going? Would it make a difference if I told you that you're the only woman I can even imagine in my life. Will it change anything if I told you that you're the only woman I've ever loved?" Zoya's eyes grew wide. She didn't know whether it was due to shock, or surprise. Her eyes filled with fresh tears, as she heard him utter those three words, "I love you."

A small smile formed against her lips, as she felt her emotions overwhelm her. She jumped at him and threw her arms around his neck and thrust herself against his chest. Asad wrapped his arms around her waist tightly, burying in his face in her shoulder, as a few tears spilled down his cheeks. Zoya tightened her grip aroun his neck, as she cried into his chest. Asad clutched on to her, as if he was holding her for dear life. "Please, don't leave me, Zoya." His heart was pounding against his chest, he was scared, scared that she would leave him.

Out of nowhere, he heard her chuckle softly. "I'm gonna leave you right here and go back to New York and I'm never gonna come back here, ok?", she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. He quickly pulled away and glared at her, she smiled at him playfully, her eyes twinkling. He hoarsely said, "That's not funny." Zoya grinned at him wrpped her ams around his neck, she said, "I'm not going anywhere, Mr. Khan. Happy?" He smiled and nodded. He held her waist, as he walked forward, making her walk backwards. Zoya looked at him, confused. He stopped when Zoya's back finally touched the wall. He caged her between his arms, perplexing Zoya more than she already was.

He asked gruffly, "So, are the feelings mutual?" Zoya almost panicked, as she finally realized what she'd got into herself into. "Wh...what feelings?", she asked, feigning confusion. Asad sighed, he asked, "Do you love me? I can't be more frank than this." Zoya looked away, as she felt her cheeks going hot. "Zoya. ", he urged. She meekly nodded her head. "Say it, then.", he commanded. "Umm...I don't know...maybe...", she paused to see his reaction and it very obviously wasn't pleasant. She finally gave up, "...I do." "You do what?", he asked. "Annoy people until they scream their heads off?", he suggested, with a not so needed smirk. She scowled at him. Asad smiled as he said, "I wanna hear those three words from you, Zoya."

Zoya smiled at him cheekily, as she sweetly asked, "Would you mind if the second word happened to be 'hate'?" Asad glowered at her, he ordered, "Say it." Zoya grinned, again and was about to say something stupid, but Asad beat her to it, he repeated, "Say it." Zoya slumped back against the wall, as her heart pounded. "Woh... mein... I... uh...", she squeezed her eyes shut, trying to get the words to come out. She finally whispered, "I...I love you, Mr. Khan." Asad smiled at her, he finally removed his hands from the wall, breaking the cage that he'd formed around Zoya, along with it. He rested his forehead against hers, while wrapping one arm around her waist and the other stroking her silky hair. He confessed, again, "I love you, too."
