The whole idea of Maburt was to show to the audience that the Nikaah is invalid, but rigid societal norms legitimized it. The Nikaah still remains invalid, no matter what, and even more so because they signed the Talaaq-nama as well. It only needs to be brought to the attention of the Masjid Committee who back then were hell-bent in legitimizing the Nikaah. But now, Asad himself comes and take Zoya away in front of the Maulvi - so the fact that the Nikaah is in anyways invalid, should soon come in to light.
