I am really sick with this track what is happening mine question is why does zoya have to scarify her love for the sake of nikhat. Is this how indian families really do things to make someone happy really watching the show people like haseena & her family they dont deserve anything they are greedy and people like her will never change.I am really disgusted I have not watched the show for long time where are true values and culture disappeared. I think that they should change the track it is not giving any positive lesson. People in india dont have their own opinion everything is based on what they watch on TV& Cienma what a joke now I understand why indian is in this kind state because of shows like this women dont have any respect and treat them as piece of dirt.
👏👏👏
Exactly. could not agree anymore. Shows like these are regressive in nature. They are promoting the stereotypical roles women have to stick to, in our society. The masses, most probably, do not go analyzing the show, the characters and their actions, as many of the forum members do. For them what is shown on-screen is a reflection of what is being accepted/done in the society, and vice versa, where the social customs and practices get cemented because of what is shown by the media.
In other words, Gul's progressive show is telling people to reinstate their beliefs in the secondary position a woman gets in our society. - That a woman's rightful place is her sasuraal, whether or not she is happy there, or respected there. Getting her married off somehow is the ultimate aim for her parental family, mostly for her brothers, however influential, progressive, regressive, rich, or respected they are. whether she is educated or not, once the decision for marriage is taken, there is no looking back, after all that is what a woman's life is all about! there is no other life for her. Her in-laws could insult her in terms of her skin tone, looks, family status and what not - but she has to put through and the in-laws shall never be questioned!
and ye, Gul, has got one more clear message up on her sleeves. you could be modern and progressive in your dressing; but at the end of the day, you are a woman, and would be put back to your rightful position. you could be traded for the family's happiness and honour (i do not understand that crap of an honour of getting your daughter married off to a life full of insults, though - but why should I understand, when there are many who might and enjoy the show even now, after all it is a trp event?).
Now, wait, I guess, perhaps, they are still trying to show us that you could be modern and progressive, wear jeans, slap a man who tries to molest you, and even could care a damn about what the hypocrite of a society thinks about your reputation, all as a progressive, yet traditional girl - but that is only for yourself; for those non-jeans wearing and a little more traditional ones - with or without a duppatta over their heads- life is different and it has to be all about getting married, even at the cost of their own self respect and that of their brothers' and their wives'. Even you, the jeans-clad progressive woman has to abide by traditions, customs, family izzat, pak and nek riti-rewaz and all that, and just keep quiet in such cases so that such marriages could be saved! after all you are traditional yet progressive!
I am actually embarrassed by the idea that I bought in all those promos and progressive bs that were dished out initially before Zee started airing this show!
