Part 3
"Forget it I'm not that sleepy so you can sleep I'll just sit beside you." Asad said looking away from her. Zoya seized the opportunity and said,
"Great then let's talk. I think we have a lot of explanation to do." Zoya grabbed his arms and made him turn towards her.
"No, as far as I know our earlier conversation was over." He closed his eyes in frustration. Why couldn't she just let it go? Zoya smirked and cocked her head to one side.
"I never said we are continuing our old conversation, I suggested talking in general, well unless you want to resume our talk."
"Aren't you tired? I always wanted to ask you this, where do you get all the energy from." Asad crossed his arms across his chest and asked with a straight face, hoping to change the subject.
"Well Mr Khan I'm a storehouse of energy you see." She said proudly and it was then Asad knew that they were back to normal again and he sighed in relief. This was the way he preferred things to be and he had no intentions of complicating things by getting his feelings in between and for that if he had to hurt Zoya then so be it. But even he couldn't ignore the way his heart would break at the sight of her tears especially if he was the reason behind them, which he was most of the time. Whenever she would get upset because of Asad's harsh words there were times when he had to fight off the urge to take her in his arms, soothe her and promise her to never hurt her again but he always controlled his emotions from taking over. He watched Zoya as she laughed at her own lame joke and felt her smile mirror on his face. Zoya sat on the edge of the bed and because of the handcuff Asad had no option but to sit beside her but he maintained a fair amount of distance between them.
"Mr Khan if we forget about the constant danger that is surrounding us, don't you think it's such a great adventure." She almost screeched and clapped her hands in glee. Asad stared at her incredulously and shook his head at her.
"Only you can find this an adventure, maybe your definition of adventure is different than mine."
"Not only adventure Mr Khan I think our dictionaries are only different." Zoya cracked another lame joke which earned her an eye roll from Asad.
"Trust you to crack jokes in such a situation, normal girls would be sitting in some corner and crying their eyes out, cursing their ill fate, hell, normal girls wouldn't do what you did in the first place." He said in an exasperated tone.
"If that is the definition of 'normal' then I'm glad I'm abnormal. Mr Khan my jiju has always taught me to be selfless, he has taught me to never hesitate to help anyone."
The way Zoya spoke about her jiju he could sense that she admired her jiju a lot. She talked animatedly about her aapi and jiju and Asad found himself lost in her thoughts. The way her eyes would twinkle whenever she talked about them, the sweet smile that would form on her face. When he realized his thoughts were heading to the forbidden zone he shook his head to get back in his I-don't-give-a-damn demeanor. He just couldn't afford to lose control like this. Zoya who had forgotten their fights and was chatting animatedly stopped suddenly. Asad looked at her and saw her cock her head towards the door as if she was straining to hear something. He followed suit and sure enough he could hear the sound of faint music coming from outside. It took him a few minutes but he soon recognized the tune to be of an old song which was one of his ammi's favorite, he had heard that song whenever her ammi would play it on the recorder. A small smile played on his lips as he listened to the song, he wondered where the sound was coming from and who would be playing this song.
Zoya stood up and tried walking towards the door but Asad was still sitting, lost in his thoughts that he failed to notice Zoya get up, due to the handcuffs Zoya felt a tug at her hand when Asad didn't move and she was pulled back with a force and landed on Asad, her back touching his front. Asad was drawn out of his thoughts when he felt Zoya fall on him. His hands reflexively went around her waist to keep her from falling on him but it was too late and they both fell on the bed pretty much like earlier only this time Zoya was on the top with her back pressed against him. "Not again." Asad thought. The handcuffs had started to become a nuisance and they needed to get rid of it as soon as possible. Zoya fidgeted as she tried to move but Asad's hold on her waist made it almost impossible for her to get up, she turned her head to ask him to leave her, almost at the same time Asad lifted his head and their face was mere inches apart. Zoya gasped at the closeness and looked into his intense brown eyes, her words stuck in her throat. Asad's grip tightened around her and he leaned in coming closer to her. He gripped her waist with one hand while his left hand skimmed on her back and into her hair, keeping her head in place. Zoya who was tired of holding back leaned into his touch, her nose caressing his. The sound of the music could still be heard in the background along with the sound of their heavy breathing. Zoya slowly opened her eyes, her eyelashes fluttering against Asad's cheeks making it look like a butterfly kiss. Asad managed to suppress the moan that had threatened to erupt. Zoya wrapped her hands on Asad's hand which was on her waist and smiled with satisfaction. She was very well aware of their position unlike Asad who was seemed to be lost somewhere yet she didn't make any attempt to move, not wanting to kill this one in a million moment, not wanting to burst this private bubble that they were in. Zoya had started to unconsciously hum the tune of the song which was playing outside. Zoya's voice had a soothing, mesmerizing effect on Asad who joined Zoya and started humming the song as well.
He slowly, without interrupting the moment placed Zoya beside him and moved closer to her. Both gazed at each other and continued humming the song forgetting everything around them, forgetting that they were running and hiding, forgetting the reason they were there, forgetting their fights, squabbles and bickering only trying to be 'in the moment'.

So night over? ;) this was my version of lag jaa gale, yep the music in the background was lag jaa gale, this was how I wanted it to happen, the lag jaa gale shown in the episode was mostly Aarti n Yash and very little AsYa. PV fans can also imagine Aarti and yash doing their jig outside side by side to asya's romance but that will just kill the moment. I tried to keep the romance true to AsYa's nature post Mangalpur but I don't think I passed. Now this is officially an SS, this is just getting longer. Damn you Ankie for trapping me into another SS. Next update will be of my SS Tu jahan main wahan cuz I feel my TJMW fans have waited long enough. Leave your comments.
PS â since I'm updating back to back I don't get the time to reply to each and every comment like I always do but that doesn't mean I don't read or appreciate the lovely comments. I love them and read them over and over again.
