"Farhan!!!" Zoya yelled from the entrance of the Khan House, impatiently waiting for him to arrive. What was taking him so long?
"I'm here, I'm here!" Farhan said entering the living room with his hands in the air, shrugging casually watching his fianc bloat up with anger.
"What took you so long? I was waiting for you ever since-" The words rolled off her mouth as she noticed Asad and Tanveer enter the scenario.
"Arre Zoya? Aap log jaa rahe hain?" Tanveer said with a sugar-coated tone and Asad, as always stood mum.
"Haan Tanveer Ji, we're going sight-seeing. Zoe wants me to see all the historic places and I wanna spend more time with her." Farhan winked at Zoya and put an arm around her.
Asad flinched at the sight that was in front of him. It hurt like a knife passing through his chest. Or maybe worse, who'd know? Until he actually put a dagger in his chest. Tanveer smiled evilly and rolled her eyes.
"Farhan there's this amazing monument here which dates back to the 15th Century and a lot of museums too! Then we'll go to this beautiful lake that I heard about. Okay?" Zoya jumped with happiness.
"Anything my baby says." Farhan whispered softly in her ear, but Asad heard. He heard it too damn well.
Tanveer saw the weakness in Asad's eyes and spoke, "Jammy, aaj dinner ke liye bahar chale? Khaala aur Najma bhi out of station hain..Zoya aur Farhan bhi bahar hongey toh-"
"Mujhe kaam hai. Tumhe kuch chaiye toh main order kar doonga." Asad said flatly and looked back at Farhan and Zoya, trying to gauge their reactions.
Zoya looked at Asad looking back at her and Farhan. He himself had chosen Tanveer over her when he was asked. Now that they had settled with their respective life partners, she had caught him staring at her every now and then. Earlier it would've made her blush and happy. But now that he was married to another woman and she was engaged to another man, it made her feel uncomfortable. She hadn't spoken to him much after his wedding with Tanveer. She was heartbroken and torn. Then Farhan happened and now they were here, not happy but satisfied.
Tanveer grimaced. Was this man even a proper man? They slept on the same bed but he never touched her, she found Zoya's photographs on his laptop and in his books. She had even caught him eye glancing her a couple of times. Forget romance, he didn't even talk to her until it was extremely important.
"Umm, let's go Farhan!" Zoya felt weird under his piercing gaze and turned to leave with Farhan, while Asad felt that his heart would explode any time now.

Tanveer sat on the laptop and logged into her Facebook profile. She had a moot donkey in the name of a husband. He just wouldn't talk or initiate anything productive. It had been 5 months they'd been married but the man was as blank as a first grade student is to a 10th grade Mathematics problem! Suddenly the news feed caught her attention. It was Zoya and Farhan's picture that Zoya had added a couple of minutes ago. They were at the lake Zoya had mentioned earlier with him kissing her on her cheek. Zoya had clicked the photo herself.
At this point Tanveer was jealous of Zoya. There was a time when they fought for Asad and the right to be his wife. Tanveer wanted it only for the money and his physique. But frankly, she'd got nothing marrying this man. On the other hand, Zoya had a beautiful sculpted man with a fat bank balance. He loved her and pampered her like nobody's business. She'd even seen them cuddling a few times during the middle of the night.
Asad was passing by Tanveer when he saw the picture on the laptop screen. If there could be any pain worse than seeing Zoya getting engaged to someone else, it was this. Her being snogged by another man. He wanted to be there, do that to her. If only he'd listened to his mother and Zoya herself. She had tried changing herself for him. She had cooked for him, cleaned for him, dressed up traditionally for him, but he never really took notice. Actually he did, but never had the audacity to say to her face. That she should stop doing all this, that he would love her regardless.
He noticed the happiness on Zoya's face when Farhan kissed her. Right on her left dimple. He'd wanted to do that for a long time now. He wanted to kiss her everywhere, claim her as his own. He never felt that way with Tanveer. It felt weird, thinking of her in that sense. But she was his wife. Wasn't it normal for them to have a physical relationship? It was. Then why didn't he feel that way for her? Why did those feelings only come for Zoya? Specially now, when she was going to belong to someone else?

"I had an amazing day today. Thank you for coming in my life." Zoya went on her toes and kissed Farhan's cheek softly while he grinned.
"Yeh kambakht September kab aayega?!" He pretended to stab himself, making Zoya giggle.
"Sabr kijiye Farhaan Saab, September ke baad baarish hi baarish hai!" She winked at him and ran back to her room, leaving Farhan grinning like a fool to himself.

Zoya entered her room with a huge smile and shut the door. What a beautiful day. She was definitely falling in love with Farhan! She felt so fresh now.
She was brought out of her thoughts by the corpse sitting in her room, on her bed.
"Damn it, Mr. Khan! You scared me." Zoya placed a hand on her chest.
"Did I now, Mr. Farooqui?" Asad said sultrily.
"Are you drunk?!" Zoya looked at him agape.
"Doesn't matter. At least when I'm drunk, you're with me." He said in a whisper.
"Mr. Khan.." Zoya whispered disapprovingly and sat next to him on the bed.
"You know..I always wanted you to call me Asad. It just..sounded right. And then I wanted you to wake up by my side every morning. I wanted you to feed me food when I would be busy working. I-" He hiccupped.
Zoya looked at him shocked. What else was in his heart?
"I didn't chose you only because I didn't want to be like my father. I couldn't tolerate to break you and your trust." A tear ran down his cheek.
"Mr. Khan please." She wiped the tear and put her arms around him. Trying to console him. She'd buried her feelings for him long back. But they were resurfacing now.
"I wanted to spoil you with gifts and love. I wanted to make love to you like no one ever did." He whispered the last bit looking straight in her eyes.
Zoya shifted uncomfortably and looked down to her lap, trying to gather herself. But when she looked back up, she found him leaning in to kiss her. She immediately pushed back and stood up.
"Mr. Khan what are you doing? Oh My God! Just please..please leave!" She put her palms on her eyes.
"Zoya, I love you.." Asad got up and tried hugging her, buts he moved back.
"Just get out of my room right now, Mr. Khan!" Zoya was flabbergasted. How dare he?! He had a wife and she was going to be married soon! How could he do this?!
"Don't do this to me, please." Asad tried one last time before she herself walked out of the room. Vowing to never see his face again.
