Dilshad is the one person who can make Asad realize he is wrong about things so I would like this scene to be there someday soon...
Dilshad: Asad,why do you get angry at Zoya so often,if you love her you must learn to respect her.
Asad: Ammi,I respect her but I think we are too different...she is so immature and does not fit into my life,she is too liberal and rebellious and always thinks of herself before society and the people around her. I doubt she even thinks before she does anything.
Dilshad: Asad,okay lets forget the fact that you love her for a minute. You say she is immature,you tell me what is maturity,to yell at someone and be mean to them whenever you lose your temper like you do,or to be quiet when someone is yelling at you even if you know you are right and that person is being unreasonable and inconsiderate like Zoya does? Dont deny that it has happened multiple times where after you yell,you realize she was innocent and did not deserve such harsh words.
(Asad lowers his eyes and is contemplative)
Dilshad: You say she is selfish and does not think before doing things,why? Because she ran away from her wedding? If you look at it through my eyes I would say she is sensible and thinks about everything she's doing in short term and long term. Imagine if she had married Akram she would have been tortured each day and the people she loved would have only been sad seeing her so miserable. Would you rather she had married him to save her appi and juju from being disgraced and then pay the price later?
Dilshad: You say she is a misfit but that is because your idea of what fits is flawed.The only quality that is important to me in my daughter in law is that she should have a heart of gold and Zoya does.
What is the point of someone who puts up a respectable front but does not have genuine affection for another human being but does everything out of duty? A truly honest person will not do a kind thing out of only duty but also out of genuine care and affection which is what Zoya does.
Every human being has flaws,Zoya's maybe her impulsiveness but in the same way yours is your temper which is just as undesirable and causes equal amount of pain. It is okay to see flaws in people but it is not okay to define them by their flaws. You must learn to see the good in people too and especially in Zoya because we both know you are hopelessly in love with her. You can't live without her and you are going to lose her and break her and yourself if this continues.
