CV's there are some issues I am having and so thought of penning it down. And before I do that I just want to write to all my forum friends here, this is solely and wholly my opinion. No one has to agree to it but if you do please refrain from being harsh and rude, this is in no way a bashing topic.
I am happy yes but not ecstatic with the show CV's. Ok first of all my liking of any show is based on the characterisation and storyline and when I lose the essence of the characters I lose interest and leave watching. I know it doesn't matter what I do or want but my request always is to keep the core of the character consistent.
This doesn't mean a character won't evolve but as I said the essence should always remain the same. The metamorphosis of Asad Ahmad Khan has already begun a lot time back but in the process don't lose the traits that made me like him in the first place, that made him Asad Ahmad Khan!
His mom and sister used to be so scared of him and his temper and now by hook or crook they are making him dance to their tunes both literally and symbolically. Really! I like the Asad of 'dance isse kahate hai Ms. Farooqui' or 'plan isse kahate hai' and now we are seeing him shaking his leg on the instructions of some dance master that too on his mom's and sister's command and requests. You see these little things bother me. Yes his mom is unwell and he will do anything, he adores his sister and will listen to her, he loves Ms. Farooqui and will do anything for her but all along he did it on his own terms but now he is a mere puppet in their hands. Hard for me to digest. Don't get me wrong, the episode was hilarious seeing a gay making a pass at him and his expressions were priceless but I am talking about the essence of his character here.
If I criticise I will also praise wholeheartedly as well. I liked the way he told Zoya's sister this marriage is real. Again here his character came into play, he decided on his terms that he will marry Zoya, there was no forcing, no hands of a 3rd person involved in his decision. He said that knowing irrespectively that his mom is not sick and his heart told him to say so. And though Zoya's sister was there right in front of him yet his eyes were only on Zoya when he said 'yes'. This was the action of a true hero, very leonine trait!
And I hope you all keep this trait in him. I am skeptical and scared because every time 4Lions starts of with a lion-like male lead which is way too larger than life and after he falls in love he just becomes a normal ordinary human being and we as audience lose what we fell in love with in the first place. It had happened to Maan Singh Khurana, Arnav Sing Raizada and I sincerely hope this history is not repeated with Asad Ahmad Khan. He can fall in love, change and become more caring or tender but I don't want to see a soft, love sick puppy dancing to any one's tunes and plans.
And now with Zoya!! As a woman I am highly offended. CV's you have still not made her say 'I love Mr. Khan' to herself. Seriously!! She is engaged, going to get married, is jealous of her guy, is happy when he is around and paying attention to her, angry when he ignores and shouts at her, is sad when he refuses to accept this marriage and engagement is real, is dreaming about him day and night, romancing him away and yet she is confused about her feelings???? She still doesn't realise she loves him!!
She is not dumb, very smart with a strong presence of mind, ultra modern, strong and independent brought up in New York and yet she doesn't have a say when it comes to her own marriage. Yet she refused to get married twice and ran away showing a strong presence of mind and now Asad puts on a ring she feels she is happily engaged, he refuses and she is sad, Dilshad announced she is her 'bride to be' for son and Zoya is ready to comply and now Asad said yes to the marriage and she will willingly marry him without even confessing to herself that she loves him. I am not saying she should propose to Asad but all I want is for her to be true to herself at least. I want to hear her say to herself 'yes I love him and that is why I want to marry him' or else you lost your female lead right there who being strong, modern and independent doesn't know her own mind and gets married just because other characters wanted her to. Doesn't tally with her past history!
About Asad we know right after Mangalpur he loves Zoya but about her we as audience have no clue and neither does Zoya herself.
And last but not the least, isn't Rashid Ahmad Khan's family, Badi B and Razia enough to hog half of Asad and Zoya's time but now we will have to bear innumerable characters as well. I don't watch any other show but now will be seeing other show's characters along with their story just to see the wedding of Asad and Zoya. This Mahasangram is all grand and big but in this process the limelight will be taken away from Asad and Zoya to some major extent. The thrill and happiness will be diluted with all these other character's life story. I want a sole episode on only Asad and Zoya and their wedding but now will be tolerating so many other characters and stories.
And moreover why is someone else telling Asad how to propose, really!!?? Again you lost a trait of Asad for me there CV's. He is not someone to go and ask for help to propose to his love, he would have gone and started with 'woh actually'...and then would have ended up with 'propose karna isse kahete hai Ms. Farooqui'. And in this process that you have adopted you will make him look an ordinary man just like others, that Asad trait will be lost. He is very private and reserve and he will never go and ask his friend for help on this regard.
CV's I hope you mend these issues or else a major part of Asad and Zoya for me will be lost in this process.
