Hi guys! I'm back n rolling 😃! Well, I changed my username, i got pretty sick of stereo hearts😆, now its just my name(..Ramya..). I know I'd said I'd post a preview of this chapter yesterday but there was pretty much nothing to look forward to so I decided to just post the update today. A little request for u guys, as for me, Asad has always been Karan, I can't imagine anyone else in his place, I can only ask u guys to try not put anyone else his while reading this story but even if u do imagine someone else in his place, plz don't make it obvious to me through comments or in any other way, just keep it to urself, this is just a small request, plz don't mistake me.
Oh and for the first time I'm gonna be dedicating a chapter to someone and this chapter is dedicated to someone and that is none other than my dear abusive kiki😆(-waitingforyou-)! Well I'm dedicating it to her for 2 reasons:
1) For pestering me to me to continue this story, I'm sure I won't be continuing this story if it wasn't for u and I so love u for it! Hugs! 🤗
2)Well, happy birthday Kiki!😃🥳 (See, I didn't forget)
I hope u've had a smashing day today!
Before u start reading, lemme just tell u one thing, whatever ur about to read is content from a different universe because right now, glancing over what I've wrote, it doesn't even seem like English to me, in other words, its pure crap. Like I said earlier, I lost pretty much all my inspiration and I've also kinda forgot my own style of writing. Sounds weird bit its true, hopefully I'll get back my old style in the next 2-3 chapters. So yeah, I'm gonna shut up now. So here goes the 13th chapter:
A Bitter Truth Unveiled
Love is like sand, it'll slip out of your hands before your realized it was ever there.
"I'm done with all your stupid work! Now give my album back!", yelled Zoya at Asad. Asad raised an eyebrow and held out her album. Zoya plucked it away from him, shooting him a glare. Just as Zoya was about to leave, Asad called out to her, "By the way, you never told me that yoy had the knack of wrestling teddy bears." Asad bit his lower lip hard, in order to control his increasingly difficult laughter. Zoya balled her fists and rolled her eyes. She turned back around, gritted her teeth, as she snapped, irritatedly, "Mr. Khan, if you're dumb enough to not understand that I was barely six years old in that photo, then there isn't a thing I can do about it. So shut up about your stupid jokes, they're not even funny!" "Oh well, for you they aren't. I'm sure, when I tell ammi and Najma, they'll have a good laugh." Zoya scowled at him as she hissed, "You won't do anything of the sort." "And if I do?" "That's not fair! I've been running around the house, doing stupid errands for you all day and now your gonna go back on your promise! You're so mean!", Zoya yelled, frustratedly, stomping her foot on the ground. "And what promise exactly did I make?", Asad asked. "You said that you'll give that album back.", Zoya replied. "And didn't I?", Asad asked, a sly smirk appearing on his face. Zoya opened her mouth to retaliate back at him, but she realized he was right. "You're so mean! I absolutely hate you!", she snapped. "I know, I absolutely love you, too.", Asad replied, sarcastically. Zoya glared at him, before marching away. Asad shook his head, amusedly. He mumbled to himself, "And this never gets old."
Asad pulled his phone out of his pocket, as it beeped with a message. Asad's jaw clenched. "Tanveer.", he snarled. Asad opened the message and read through it:-
Jammy, Jammy, Jammy,
Dear you, how have you been?
Well anyways, I just wanted to tell you, meet me at the Lakeside Park, tomorrow at five in the evening.
I know, I know, you're probably thinking about who I am to order you around. Well, I'm not gonna deny, I'm no one to give you orders but I think you'll have to pay a pretty high price if you don't turn up. Suppose, I could take Zoya's life as a payment? I know, sounds kinda crazy, no, absolutely crazy, taking someone's life for you not turning up, but what am I supposed to do? Nothing seems to be more precious to you, these days, than Zoya. So yeah, I'm not gonna say that you have to turn up, I'll be happy with my alternate price, too.
Buh bye Jammy!
Your dearest Tannu
Asad balled his fists, "How dare she?" Asad threw his phone across the room, on to the bed. His heart thudded against his chest, he hadn't thought that Tanveer would have ever had the guts to face him again. But here she was, sending a death threat for Zoya, just for making him meet her. True enough that Asad had more power in his hands than Tanveer could imagine but at the same time, Asad was well aware of the fact that Tanveer was pretty set with her ways and he didn't trust that he would be able to keep Zoya safe and away from Tanveer, every second. "I won't let your shadow fall upon Zoya, let alone you. And if keeping Zoya away from your dirty hands means merely meeting you at a place, then I'd more than willingly do so.", he concluded.
Zoya glared at Asad from across the dining table, still vexed with him. Asad ducked his head and smiled as he ate. Asad got up from his chair, as he finished his dinner. "Ammi, I'm really tired, I had a lot of work to do today, I'm gonna go get some sleep. Good night." Dilshaad nodded, smiling sympathetically. Asad smirked as he caught Zoya's expression, she was fuming. Zoya muttered under her breath, "Made me do all the work and says he's tired. Jerk." "Did I hear something, Zoya?", Asad asked, innocently. Zoya looked up at him and scowled, she snapped, "Yes, you did and it isn't your business, anyways, you're so tired from all the work you did, right? So why don't you just shove off to your room and get some of that precious sleep?" Asad bit back a grin and played along, "Of course. Good night." He turned and started to leave, he heard Zoya say out loudly, "Poor man's been working all day." Asad rolled his eyes and smiled, there was probably nothing more entertaining than getting on Zoya's nerves.
"Boo!" Zoya jumped, screaming a little in the process, while hugging a pillow, squeezing her eyes shut, terrorized. "Thief! Thief! Thief!", she shrieked defiantly, refusing to acknowledge the situation. It took her a while to snap of out of her momentary panic attack as someone shook her by her shoulders, wildly. "Zoya! Zoya! ZOYA!!! For heaven's sake, shut up!" Zoya pulled her face out of the pillow and looked up. And her face went smack. Asad burst into fits of laughter as Zoya's face turned tomato red. "I thought someone knew karate!", Asad teased in between spurts of laughter, clutching his stomach. Zoya threw the pillow at him and turned away, extremely embarrassed. She internally face palmed herself, that was mortifying. Asad was still roaring with laughter. "If you're done with your giggling, you can leave.", she huffed. Asad sat down on the bed, next to her, spluttering and coughing, "That...was...hilarious!!!" Zoya turned back around and glared at him and glowered, "And may I ask you what you're doing at my room at one in the morning?" Asad took a deep breath as he controlled himself, he replied, "Didn't feel sleepy." "But what are you doing here, in my room?", she asked. "Scaring you.", he replied, earning a death glare from Zoya. "Uh, I came out to get some water and I noticed, your lights were on, so uh...I thought I'll give you a surprise, you can put it that way.", he stated. "And why exactly didn't you knock?", Zoya asked, gritting her teeth. "Oh why, I thought you were my fianc.", Asad quipped. "That I am, unfortunately, but I'm not your wife.", Zoya retorted. "Well, you will be soon.", Asad replied calmly, adding a tinge of mischief to the edge of his voice. Zoya took in a deep breath. "Mr.Khan.", she exhaled. "Uh huh" "Now, will you please get lost to your room?", she asked. "No.", came his reply, "I'm bored." "Oh and I'm supposed to entertain you? I'm not you personal entertainment machine, alright?", she snapped. "Well, entertainment machine, or not, what you did a couple of minutes ago, that was probably the best entertainment I've had in years.", Asad replied, breaking into a boyish grin at the end. Zoya whacked his chest, Asad laughed a little. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards him. Zoya fell on top of his chest, Zoya looked up at him and glared. Asad wrapped his arms around her, Zoya struggled, trying to get out of his grip, but Asad's hold was like iron. She pummelled his chest with her fists, extremely agitated with him. Asad caught her hands, he furrowed his eyebrows as he caught sight sight of something. He thrust Zoya's fist open and found her forefinger wrapped in a bandage. "What happened to your finger?", Asad asked, frowning, his fingers automatically rubbing over hers. "Its nothing, now let me go.", replied Zoya, elbowing his arms. "No, tell me. What happened?", he urged. Zoya struggled to get out of his grip as she exasperated, "Allah miyan! What's wrong with you, Mr. Khan?! It's just a tiny little wound, why are you making such a big deal out of it?" "And why aren't you telling me?", he asked. Zoya groaned in response, "Urghh, Mr. Khan, you're impossible! I just stapled my finger will getting your papers arranged." Asad immediately felt guilty, he reached back for her hand and started rubbing on her wounded finger. "I'm really sorry, Zoya, I didn't mean to, I'm wouldn't ha-" He was cut short by Zoya, "Oh God, please Mr. Khan. I stapled my finger and your making it sound like you broke every single bone in my body. Cut yourself some slack." Asad nodded, hesitantly, still gently rubbing her finger. Zoya smiled at him, he looked really cute when he had that guilty expression on his face. Wait up, cute? What was she thinking? "Now will you leave?", she asked. "No.", Asad replied, as he pulled her closer and huddled her up, next to him. Zoya rested her head on his chest and smiled to herself. "Zoya?" "Yeah?" Asad bit his lower lip, trying to think of the correct words. He slowly said, "Umm...Zoya, don't go out anywhere alone. If you do, take me, or ammi along with you." Zoya looked up at him, puzzled. She noticed the frown lines on his forehead. She pulled herself up and ran ger fingers against his forehead, gently. "What is it, Mr. Khan?", she asked, softly. "No, it's nothing. I just don't want you to go-" "Mr. Khan, you know you're a terrible liar.", Zoya stated, smiling a little. Asad managed to return a smile. "Something to do with Tanveer?", Zoya probed. Asad turned his face away. Zoya sighed, "It's ok, Mr. Khan. I won't go out anywhere alone. Happy?" Asad nodded, contented with her reply. "Thank you.", he replied. He knew he couldn't let Zoya know about Tanveer's message, not yet. Something made him feel that the meeting wasn't gonna end up right. He didn't know what made him feel that way but there was a constant yelling in his head, a powerful one, he couldn't make out any words but he knew it was mocking him. He squeezed his eyes shut, in an attempt to dismiss those thoughts away from his mind. Little did he know, when the sun rose, it would snatch away something from him, that was more precious to him, than his own life.
Asad glanced at his watch. It was 5.20 and she still wasn't there. Asad inhaled a deep breath, as he leaned against the car, waiting for Tanveer to show up. And there she was. Standing around thirty feet away from him, a sly smile plastered on her face. Asad's insides boiled as Tanveer made her way towards him in her own pace. She stopped a few feet away from him. She tilted her head in an angular position, a cunning smilie adorning her face. Asad balled his fists as he glowered at her. "Arre? What are you staring at? Won't I even get a hug?", she asked, her tone coated with sugar. "I don't have time to listen to your stupid rambling. I wouldn't have even bothered coming here, if you hadn't passed that threat. Just get on with whatever you wanted to say.", he snarled. "Ah-ha, in a big hurry, are we now?", she remarked at him. "Don't waste my time, just get on with it.", his voice had a dangerous edge to her it, Tanveer shrugged, "Well, if you say so." "I'm still waiting." A lop sided smile started to appear at the edge of her lips, she sighed deeply, before she began, "I'm gonna tell you a story. A story about a man, his wife and daughter. I won't tell you their names, just listen." For some strange reason, Asad's heart raced, he knew for sure that he wasn't gonna like what he was gonna hear; he'd anticipated that, but this time he felt different, fear knead his insides as if it were dough. Calm down, Asad. You're panicking for no reason, he convinced himself, but he knew that wasn't true. He slowly nodded, gulping down a huge lump from his throat. Tanveer went on, "Like every family, they too lived a normal life. But one day, the woman, she lost her life in a fire accident. Her daughter was with her when it happened. The whole building burned, along with the woman but the girl, she managed to survive, she witnessed everything with her own eyes. She saw her mother burn to death, at the age of three. Rather cruel, isn't it?" Asad felt like a beast had raked it's claws against his chest. His muscles tightened as his mind tried to process everything that he was hearing. Tanveer continued, "Following that incident, the girl, yet again, she was separated from her father. She was put in an orphanage. After that, a couple had come and claimed her, they took her to the U.S with them and she spent the rest of her childhood there, but then, after years of living there, she came back to India, with a goal to find her father, but news came to her that he was already dead." Zoya. She was all he could think off. He remembered, Zoya had once told him that her biggest fear was fire. He was well aware of the nightmares that haunted her, a girl, which he believed was Zoya, stuck in a burning building, screaming for help. Asad clenched his fists, "I don't know where you're getting to, but I know one thing for sure, you're talking about Zoya and if you're intending on as much as laying a finger-" "Hear me out, I doubt I'll have to do anything after this, everything will happen in its own course, trust me." Asad could make out a clear taunt in her voice, in fact, every word that she spoke seemed to be taunting. "So, where was I? Oh yeah, the girl found out that he was already dead. Now that you've already said it, I might as well cut to the chase and end the torture, yes, the girl is Zoya, but her father...he was never dead. He's still alive." Sweat beads formed on Asad's forehead, but all the panic that had formed up in his chest seemed to dissolve in a second. His fear had been replaced by sheer curiosity. He couldn't seem to find the right words, he stuttered as he spoke, "Wh..what are you saying? Zoya's father is a...alive? Do you know Zoya's fa...father?" Tanveer smiled slyly. "Of course, I do.", she sneered. "Now, do you want to know who he is?", she asked. "If you're upto any game, I swear I'll-" "Do you want to know who Zoya's father is, or not? Simple question. Yes, or no, that's it." Asad hesitated, as much as he wanted to know, something was stopping him. Sure enough, he didn't trust Tanveer the slightest bit, but he didn't feel it was that. He concluded that it was mere anxiety and pushed those thoughts away. He reluctantly nodded, "Yes." Tanveer grinned, triumphantly, as if she'd been waiting her whole life for this one moment, seeing Asad break, seeing the hate that would form in his eyes for the one he claimed to love the most. Zoya. The very thought gave her goosebumps, for after all, she was a lowly monster, who found pure joy in someone else's grief. Her eyes shone with a malicious glint. She finally spat, "Gaffur Ahmed Siddiqui."

Precap: "Mr. Khan, you have to answer me, what did I do?", screamed Zoya. "What didn't you do?", Asad bellowed, as his his fist met the wall, yet again. Tears formed in Zoya's eyes, tears of pure anger. She wiped them away, as she spoke, her voice barely audible, "So you're basically telling me that this relationship is not gonna happen." Asad gritted his teeth, his eyes fixated on the floor. "Don't worry, Mr. Khan. I'll be gone. Gone forever."

Urghh, what did I just make u guys read? Jeez, that was so crap.
So yeah, that's was the 13th chapter. I know it was really boring n I'm so sorry abt it, I tried my best to tweak it here n there but nothing seemed to work out. So sorry guys!
I know, I know, u guys probably wann akill me now coz I've amde u giya read something so stupid n I've also left it at a cliffy n abt the separation, yup, there is a separation but they'll be back together before u know it. I wasn't planning on writing a 20 chapter story with a tragic ending anyways😆. So yeah, thats abt everything I can say, I've given u guys a fairly long precap, but I'm pretty sure that's crap too.
From now on, I'll try updating every 4 or 5 days, I can't promise u guys that an update will come within that period every time but I'll try my best, coz my annual exams r approaching too.
And another important thing, since I'm updating after so long, I've kind of forgot those tiny bits n pieces that I've added in this story, previously, I tried reading through the whole story, but I realized that there's nothing more boring than reading ur own work 😆. So u guys r bound to notice some bloopers in the coming chapters or this chapter even and if u spot any blooper at all, plz do lemme know, I'll change it.
As crap as this chapter was, plz do leave ur reviews behind! At least for the sake that I'm updating after so long. So plz do leave some comments!
Love,
Ramya 😊
