Jashn-e-Saugat Same As 'Mayara' In Hindus!!

In Hindus we hav a function called 'Mayara'...in this function bride and groom's family presents gifts to each other and they also put 'Tika/Tilak' on each other, it signifies giving respect...like the bride's mom will gift to groom's mom n vice versa, bride's mama/chacha will give give to groom's mama/chacha vice versa...so I think this is wat jash-e-saugat here means... !!

Also the bride gets all the Khandani jewellery and her bridal lehnga frem her mother in law along with lots of other gifts necessary for a girl in her wedding in this function...CVs have used the same idea and rasam n given it this name as I see many Muslims too here are clueless about Jashn'e-Saugat (I read in goingreen's post)

Also, whoever relatives and neighbours who attend this Mayara function are also given return gifts!!!

They also sing 'culturl geets' in this function...

This function is bascially done to show t the scoiety(relatives n neighbours) that how much both the families are giving to each other!!!

And Mayara function is done by Mama(Maternal Uncle) of the Bride and the Groom respectively!!

I know nothing at all of Muslim wedding rituals! All I know is that you are meant to say "Qubool hain" when asked if you will marry the person!

The little I do know about Hindu weddings is what I have seen in BW movies and recently on Indian TV! (Mostly from IPK during the two weddings they had on the show for Payal and Akash and Arnav and Khushi)!! I am not Indian and I am also a Catholic!

I thought the ceremony was called "Mehephil E Saugat"?? Didn't they call it that when they had that function for Nikhat? Please correct me if I am wrong!

I am really looking forward to seeing a Muslim wedding!

yeah even I am clueless about Muslim weddings n QH is the first show I am watching which is showcasing a Muslim wedding, so m also really looking forward to each n every function they gonna hav...yeah they called it Mehfil-e-Saugat for Nikhat but a Mehfil and a Jashn both means same and are equivalent to A'A Celebration or a Gathering"...so Jash-e-Saugat and Mehfil-e-Saugat are thus the same I guess😃
