Until the timeline is clarified, I don't wanna speculate anything, I really hope they do the needful regarding it soon because there is a vast difference between 17 and 20 years and we the viewers were getting hammered on our heads by the "satra saal ka raaz" uptil now. The fire is alright in that context, but the woman getting killed - who she seems to be - does not make any sense in the till-now-revealed chronology. That is what makes your interpretation so plausible as it nicely closes a gaping loophole. I think you might've hit the nail on the head on this one.

Also, Zoya is the only positive link between Rashid and Dilshad now. Asad may detest his father more after now, but Zoya might see beyond that and actually through to Rashid's compromising state and innocence. Frankly I rather not see the whole fake marriage or marriage of convenience track. I find such tracks weird and unnecessary sometimes and I doubt Zoya will actually do it unleas she is pushed to the edge where she has no other options but to jump.
Yup even Im confused, she is an indian citizen surely. Born here itself before she was taken to USA so she or atleast her appi and jiju must have applied for a OCI or PIO card.

Zoya is a smart cookie, I doubt she will do such stupid things as taking badla on the father by using his son and such nonsense.
If anything I can definitely see Zoya getting her revenge by exposing Razia for her crimes. And she'll only use her brains and of course Asad's help for it.

Yes, Asad might disagree in involving her but Zoya being Zoya will accomplish her mission with him or without him ;) So he will have no option other than to trust and hear her out like he has done in today's episode.
Contract-marriage husbands 😆 I really do doubt them taking that route because as per what I have heard divorce and remarriage are not that easy in Islamic religion unlike in Hindu marriage where ek thilak laga ya, mangalsurta dala aur shaadi ho gayi... and if u want to get divorced just throw the mangalsutra away 😆
I'm a hindu myself but I find it so hilarious when soaps make the concept of getting married such an easy and quick process.

Rashid won't do anything until the very end.
I feel he needs a greater push to actually stand up to Razia, he still is stuck in the past and thinking he is unable to fight back.
Once he realizes Razia was the one who killed the woman, He will figjt back I guess.
