Zoya:
Zoya tried to open her eyes. She could barely think. Did she fall off to sleep? She had a faint memory of the last conversation she had with Mr. Khan. He had been very very angry with her and then something had happened. Something had suffocated her, and she had smelled the earth. She had a vague dream of being buried...and then there was the feeling of something rhythmic and heavy on her chest. She had heard someone (Was it Mr. Khan) call out her name from another world. Raindrops had fallen on her and now she could feel air...why did it feel so precious?
She opened her eyes. She was puzzled to see Aarti there. Was it all just a bad dream? And then she had felt light- Mr. Khan had miraculously appeared at her side, holding her- laughing, crying... raindrops fell on her face again. Were those his tears?
Aarti was trying to tell her something- about how Mr. Khan had worried over her...that was not important. SHE WAS NOT IMPORTANT any more. She had something to tell Aarti- about her Ansh. The child had been kidnapped. She must let her know.
Aarti had known. They even knew who had taken the child. How petrified the child had looked! How worried Aarti and Yash must be. She must tell them to run and save the child.
They were gone. And now she was left with Mr. Khan alone again. What an adventure they had! Was it truly over? He came and sat beside her. Zoya badly wanted to hug someone after this ordeal. But she did not want to burden him any more.
Zoya was just numb. She had no strength in her- to talk, walk, do any thing. She wished she could just hug her mother and sleep. She felt Asad's hand on her shoulder. He helped her up, let her lean on him and even carried her.
It was not the same now. There was none of the excitement she had felt the night before when they were handcuffed together; none of the elation his very presence had started filling her with... Something in her had died with that last conversation- she had faintly begun to hope- that she could really trust some one after all. That she did not have to keep a safe distance with a brave smile for the world, that there was someone she could lean on- who would accept her as she was. A FRIEND. That was all it was. A hope. And it had died. IT WAS NOT HIS FAULT. She had simply taken him for granted, expected him to be there for her. What right did she have? Why did she mistake his kindness for friendship? He had made it clear- she was something he had to PUT UP WITH. He wanted her out of his life. What right did she have?
Zoya wished she had the strength to walk. She should stop imposing herself on Mr. Khan. He had a good heart. That did not mean she could go on troubling him.
This is how I read Zoya today. Though it was all about Asad, somehow, Zoya caught my interest today.
Actually it is too early to decipher either of them, but I am trying to complete the love story as it stands now. Things will become clearer only as the story progresses.😕
Asad:
With Yash's advice and his own moment of losing himself- Asad must have realised what Zoya means to him.
But, as the song goes:
"Mitwa, ishq pe zor nahi"- He is a gentleman. He will not force himself on Zoya. He will take her avoidance to be disinterest- he knows it only too well that he is not Ms. Farooqi's Mr. Perfect. And he will take this as another rejection like he faced with his father. By now, he THINKS he can take rejections well.
I have made Zoya look so serious, but don't worry. I bet the child woman will be back.😉 That's the way we all like her!
Ayan- Humeira was really cute today. Why do we even worry about AsYa not being a couple when Humeira is there?
