Character consistency

Hey guys😊
Let me start off by saying i love this show and believe it has the potential to be different. Thats one of the main reasons why am making this post. Dont get me wrong. I understand the time constraints and the excruciatingly demanding TRP system which makes it terribly unfair to expect epi after epi of high quality and substance. But one thing which almost every show fails to maintain is character consistency and i do believe its a huge turn off for the viewers.Just because its an Indian show, I don believe it must be compromised with. I don mind episodes being low on content but i do expect character consistency. Now let me again add that QH has managed to do that to a reasonable extent uptil now.The USP of the show to me is the uniqueness of Asad and Zoya's characters. Asad is not your quintessential angey young man and Zoya is not the naive uneducated jhalli. What i would hate to see is Asad becoming the typical 4 Lions hero who revels in manhandling the female lead and has absolutely no regard for human emotions. What i loved about Asad is the fact that he was completely different from ASR and MSK. The only similarity between Arnav and Asad as far as i can see is their troubled past. Otherwise i think Asad has a quite dignity which was completely lacking in the other two heros when the shows started. It disgusts me when shows romanticise domestic violence and physical abuse and its honestly beyond my understanding how a girl can fall for such a jerk however goodlooking he might be. This did happen in the previous two shows and am glad thats not the case here. I do believe the arm twisting the other day cannot be categorised as aggression. Zoya was just being too bratty and i dont blame Asad for blowing his fuse. I dont think Asad intended to hurt Zoya and he was just playing her as she was just not yielding otherwise. I do see a vast difference between the manhandling which took place in the previous shows and this particular instance. Now all i hope for is for his character to be maintained. I for one would hate to see his character become one dimensional and the typical M&B type hero.(Am fervently hoping the precap is Zoya's imagination)
Now coming to Zoya, what really stood out to me was the fact that she is well educated and has her own mind unlike most female leads. I do understand she is happy go lucky and lives her life to the fullest but i hope they make her less bratty and immature, I find her antics really cute but honestly who would behave the way she does when u are a guest in someone's place knowing fully well that your host is a cleanliness freak. Modern, progressive and full of life does not equate to bratty, immature and childish, does it? I'd love to see Zoya act a lil more mature because honestly this is not how she started out. And please show Zoya search for her father once in a while because thats supposed to be the purpose of her stay.
And one last thing i want to add. I would love to see an emotional connection and understanding between the two before they fall in love.Viewers must be able to relate to why a mature Asad falls for a bratty Zoya who is so unclean and has completely conflicting ideologies and vice versa. I really want their relationship to have a certain level of sensitivity to it.
P.S.Am really sorry if i offended anyone,Opposing views are welcome😊I love Asya and i do believe they have the potential to be all this and more😳

Completely Agree..

I love this show .. as it is really different and special a Muslim family based show which does not deal with usual issues like terrorism, religion, fundamentalism, hindu - muslim etc etc.. the simplicity and honesty of the show keeps me with this.. but they can do better with characters to remain consistent and different in true sense

i agree with you somewhat.character cosistency is important.zoya was shown to be a happy go lucky girl with a modern outlook but right now i can only see her as lacking in manners and common sense.her character, which i liked when the serial began, has suddenly become weird.as for asad falling for her, right now i dont see anything which he would get attracted to.so if they want to show asad falling for zoya , they need to work a lot on building up to that.

One of the most sensible posts I have come across in this forum.Completely agree with all the points you mentioned and you put it into words so aptly, couldnt have said it better.Even I love the show for its characters and hope they handle it with sensitivity in the way forward too.Asad and Zoya are such beautiful and soulful characters with a certain depth to them.As you said,I really hope an emotional connect is established before the love track.Their story have so much potential given they both are such diverse yet strong individuals and I really hope it all unfolds maintaining the beauty of their characters without reducing it to a typical M&B story as you mentioned .

Thnks for the reply guys😊 I recently saw a Pakistan drama and was touched by the sensitivity and depth of the characters, which is such a rarity in Indian soaps. I really hope QH proves to be an exception😊
