Chapter 2
Abhay stood rigid as her words kept ringing in his ears. No body had ever had the audacity to speak to him in such a manner. And this girl, not only did she spoke to him loudly, but insulted him in his own office.
His decision not to help her with the shares and factory was the right one. He knew that after the death of his sister, due to his one wrong move, he had lost his best friend. He was angry at that time and without thinking had taken out all his anger on Arjun, accused him for being irresponsible in taking care of Annie. He knew somewhere down the line he had a role in Arjun's deteriorating mental state after Annie's death. He knew he was responsible for Arjun's death.
But he wouldn't repeat the same again. The girl was here for money only. After the death of her brother, she could easily get all the property in her name and workers being unemployed was just an excuse.
If she was worried about them, why didn't she take a step all this long?
Ofcourse because all she wanted was the property. She had no internet in her family, her lost relationships or the workers. Otherwise what would be the reason for the absence of a sister on her brothers engagement or death ceremony.
Banishing her from his mind and hoping never to see Piya Jaiswal again, Abhay sat down at his desk and resumed back his work.
***********
The following afternoon, Piya made her way to Hotel Sherington in a taxi, after having spent an awful morning with that khadoos bas**** Abhay Raichand.
Carefully holding her purse in one hand, she started walking towards the gate of the party hall, once reaching inside the hotel.
Piya's original reason for a trip to India was to meet a person she had met online, who had admired the book, 'Truth of Life' she had written.
After completing her studies in London, Piya, with a wish to persuae her hobby as her carrier had started writing short stories. Impressed by her work and her command over writing, a publishing company had signed a contract with her, with Piya's demand to not disclose the name of the writer.
And soon she had written 'Truth of Life'. The book described the journey of a boy to a man after facing a lot of hardships. The book on being published became an instant hit and soon joined the category of bestseller.
The book had earned Piya a lot of fans and thousands of fan mails. One particular mail had caught her eye, which was from a person in India, who had put forward his views about the story.
Though Piya had many people who had reviewed her book, but this man in particular had been able to understand the depth of her story and hence after reading his review, she couldn't help herself from replying back.
This was how the two had started talking and sharing their views about life. During these talks they had realized how similar they were to eachother. But never had they disclosed their identity. For Piya he was a person living in Delhi who had liked her story, and for him she was an unknown writer of the book.
And it was after his insists, Piya had decided to travel back to India after 15 long years. On reaching home, she had discovered about her brother's death and the deteriorating factory status. Though she had tried to revive things in the best way possible, but due to inexperience in business as a last resort had seeked for Abhay's help, only to be declined and insulted in the worst way possible.
Removing these thoughts from her mind, she placed her hand on the knob of the door to the hall, where she was supposed to meet that man. As she was about to turn the knob, she felt a hand on her waist and in no time was turned around harshly.
Piya's mouth fell open in shock as ger eyes scanned the face in front of her and realized that his hand was on her waist.
"You!!" he exclaimed, as his light blue eyes, filled with anger, moved around to capture his face. " What do you think you are doing, following me around?" Abhay demanded and grabbed ger waist more tightly in anger.
"Following you around? Oh for heaven's sake, get over yourself and let me go." Piya jeered at his sudden arrogant assumption. What the hell was this person even doing here, she thought.
"What are you doing here, if you're not following me?" Abhay challenged her as ge removed his hands from her and placed them across his chest in a crossed manner.
"I'm here to meet somebody!" Piya replied readily, not wven sure as to why she was answering him back.
"You are here to meet somebody, in my party?" Abhay gave an over reaction with his eyes to his sarcastic comment. " Ok who's the person, tell me tge name and i'll call him?" He prompted with an irrepressible grin, thinking to have caught her lie.
"...a...a...mmm" Piya struggled with the name she had no clue about. The person had asked her to meet him here. If she would have known it was Abhay's party, she would have never agreed.
"Oh! So you don't remember the name...No worries." Abhay pretend to think for a while before speaking. " Ok just answer this- How did you get in here?" He smiled sweetly.
"Through the door. How do you think?" Piya snapped back. She was frustrated with herself for not asking the name of the person she had been in contact for so long and this khadoos was adding up to her anger.
"And this is the way you're going out, right now." And before Piya could reply back, Abhay spoke to the watchman to throw her out.
