DOTW: Convincing OR Not? Cliched OR Fresh?

Hello people! This is supposed to be the very first DOTW in the forum and shay, I don't think I have anything very much concrete to discuss.

BTW, my name is Kankshita and though I am known as Kanky, I am fondly addressed with a number of abbreviations. And now that we're done with my introduction ' lets quickly get to the discussion -----------

It's been two weeks that the show has started and omitting all super-bad things, I would say that the show is one fine thing being presented with a bunch of great actors. Needless to say, Piya Wal brings life to the show and she's the highlight of the show too. Apart from her, Panchi, Danish, Kabir and Tee are doing justice with their roles. And as for the leads ' they're a little dissatisfying to me, though ' I am intrigued by the story as much as everybody in here is. Trust me! Kekta has put in efforts and that shows, she's trying to deviate the show from every stereotype and all the comparisons with Twilight that have were set, much before the show was aired.

It isn't revealed yet if the Raichands' are vampires or some other species of supernatural beings, though the comparison and the tag of being "copied" haven't yet taken the backseat. So tell me, how much do you think the show is like Twilight and how much effort according to you is being made to bring about a difference?

Talking of the girls in the show ' Piyashree Jaiswal, an orphan comes across as a very level-head headed and optimistic girl. Though, these traits mentioned are possessed by every other K-soap leading lady, she is different ' for she doesn't cry all the time, she's so much more confident and youthful and the best part ' she dint wish to distant herself from Misha and Panchi after making out they are her step-sisters. She's one non-melodramatic leading lady and since she's been portrayed really well by Sukeerti ' I am sure everybody must like her. Misha like I said is the highlight of the show. Bratty and tomboyish, Misha inspires us all to shed our inhibitions and not care, one reckless lass she is and her character is so real and amiable that everybody has grown fond of her. The actress who plays Panchi plays her part really well too; she's opinionated, sweet and truly lovable. And as for Tee ' she definitely is dumb. Like most "bimbos" around, she's typically blonde and has got an ultimate gold-digger attitude.

And now the guys ' The pleasant and charming Kabir is one totally drool-worthy fellow, even though he's not that lucky with looks, honestly. The actor acts really well and that in itself is working wonders. However the "cold" hottie Abhay fails to click with me, he's too curt. The actor evidently is working hard though the character somehow fails to establish a connect and all Vivian fans will have to wait to witness some convincing piece of acting from him, and also the softer side of the character.

The clichd factor of the show has shot up like anything, in the recent few episodes. Starting from Pia's being Dobrial's daughter to Abhay's mother (Tam Ma'am doesn't look his mother, aah 😆) telling Abhay that he's made all wrong moves, to her making out that Pia's face has got something really deep to do with Abhay's past. All in all ' this is extremely stale.

And now the fresh factor ' "Wikipedia pee lee", "Pastry aunty" and uploading pictures of real melodramatic fights on youtube are definitely refreshing, a break from all Star One leading ladies whose characters are 24x7 on the verge of being butchered. And the light-hearted moments that the Dehradun elite college-goers share are absolute treats to watch. The set up seems real, the bonds that the sisters share seem real and so does the effort Kabir is being putting in since day one to convince Pia of his feelings for her. Absolutely new and fresh ' totally jhakkas, if I may say that. Hehe! 😎

And now am gonna conclude with some questions for you guys to answer and discuss about this week:

Who according to you stole the show ' Abhay or Kabir?

AND now, the most important question . . . . . .

How clichd or refreshing does the show, the caste and the characters seem to you and do you still have hopes with the show ' after all the disappointment that you may have faced due to the suateli behen angle, gross presentation of vampires (total insult) and lastly, Abhay's character?

1.Well I relate myself with Panchi though I don't have any bf but her calm mind straight forward attitude more practical in lyf r sum of the highlighted qualities tat ppl find in me.
Oh, thats great. I and Misha are strikingly similar, though I am like her when am in an exceptionally great mood otherwise, I can be stonier that Abhay!
2.Hmm as of now both Abhay n kabir have gained equal importance from audience I think both of them will prove their best in near future.
Kabir takes the cake all the time, you know? People around are more fond him cause the character is quite convincing.
Well If u ask my personal opinion I lyk Abhay his mystery n hot luk's attract me more n talking about Kabir he seems to me an open book..I don't need to wrk hard to solve him..he could be my fav8 math equation but not Abhay is too difficult to even think of solving n I lyk tat..😊sooooo my vote goes to Abhay for being too mysterious!!
Mysterious guys are anyday more attractive you see. Though I believe, the ones left and liked in the end are all the pleasant ones. Aah!

I like the show as a package. It needs a lot of improvement, but its a good show to keep my 8.30-9.00 slot occupied. I'm hoping for improvements in effects and acting. I really like all the characters. I've long stopped comparing it to twilight. It may be a copy but this show has its own charm..

agreed with Priya Wal/ Misha bringing life to the show. I thought that Priya's acting was OTT in the first week of the show but the 2nd week it seemed like she improved drastically.

I hope they're not vampires but the show is going to a direction thats telling me that they're in-fact vamps.

Sukirti - if you have noticed im a BIG fan of Sukirti. but though i have to admit theres something lacking in her but its definitely not her fault. What im trying to say is that the type of scenes shes given has an awkward statement. For example: when she was talking to the moon she was like "mamma give me a sign" and the 100 times she says Mamma was so freakin annoying. the dialogues in this show has abundant amount of faults. But Pias character is well built. like when she slapped Misha and her not overreacting about being Misha's stepsister. and in the forum people were going on about how she shouldn't have cried when T said that orphan things to her. But in my opinion I thought even if Kabir was in her place he would have cried. I mean would you honestly have the courage to say anything back if some 'bimbo' called you an orphan (which is true) that isn't worth to be in an elite party? (which is also the truth) Truth hurts and I thought that was what Ekta was trying to prove when she showed Pia running off crying her eyes out.

Panchi - yeah i like her so far.

I think Vishal is a pretty cute guy. not hot but cute. and yeas agreed his acting is much better than Vivian's. Yes the characters they are portraying has to do with it too but a good actor knows his character well and gets drowned in it and I dont see Vivian doing that as of yet. I know we have to give im a chance to improve but theres a LOT lacking in him and I hope it gets better SOON.

since its an ekta show you had to expect something like this from her. typical ekta. but i dont really mind it as much as the bad effects+dialogues.

yep agreed. Misha is a character that's like a glue of this whole show. and T is doing pretty well with herself too except for the what the fricks every now and then.

Whom do you relate the most with - Pia, Misha, Panchi or Tee?

I think I relate to both Misha and Pia. I like to wear dresses and converse. I dont speak loud but have my own opinions.
