Hey all! 😊 I'm a little exhausted tonight, but I really enjoyed the episode. I agree with most of what I'm seeing on the main forum. The good stuff for me:
1. Sharper evidence of Yash and Aarti's deepening love for each other. From their absolute best attempts to stay together for the night; to his kiss on her hand came that across as really spontaneous; to Aayu's absolutely adorbs wink of approval (reflex action by the baby but so perfectly timed); and to Aarti's enthralled "Yashji!" after Radha teased her, wishing that they'd always love each other. Aayu's birth seems to have ruptured a dam of physical and emotional expression. Bring it on, writers, bring it on! 😉
2. A more alert Yash and Aarti around Ishita. They've run into too many duplicitous people within their family in the recent past to be written as "clueless" when they're not, so this is good progress by the writers that Aarti reels back when Ishita tries to touch the baby and Yash confronts her about it, opting not to comfort her when she cries even if it's his instinct to be sympathetic. They don't know the full truth, but suspicions are heightened and the writers need to make it count. I do think Aarti will be much more hyperaware than Yash, and I don't mind that he's civil to her in the later scenes with the kids, but I really hope the writers to keep him alert in his own way (and preferably avoid having her "trip" around him; there's only so many times she can try that nonsense and it works).
3. Akash's onscreen time given in increments and I'm grateful for it. Ironically, he has accurately assessed that Ishita's explanation for taking Aayu was full of crap. However, he doesn't realize his own assumption is far off the mark. Interestingly, he's trying to actually make this marriage work. Well, the physical/sexual part of it anyway.
4. A revisit of classic Yash, Prateek and Pankaj fraternity, using the natural chemistry between Gurmeet, Rakesh and Dishank. 😆 I've missed their scenes together.
5. Ansh, Palak and Payal undermine Ishita with their natural bluntness over her overdressing and her bad cooking. Since she didn't get the hint when she saw Aarti's picture (as Ansh opened the door) that she's trying to trespass on a very much alive marriage and family, the kids let her know, in their own way, that she's not their Mom and she's out of her depth. I also enjoyed watching their earlier excitement about Aayu. That whole scene on Aarti's hospital bed was cute!
Only complaint: Ishita's screen time and internal chatter is still too much for me. She is effectively killing her own scenes. My hope is that the EPs and the writers figure out, sooner rather than later, that they need to reel her airtime in. Give her shorter shots and less internal yapping.
Loopholes I'm willing to overlook: I suspect the original plan was to have Ishita take the baby to a mental asylum as the spoiler said, but they did a quick change and went with Aarti discovering her instead. The change was a smart move, but the unfortunate fallout is that we had some inconsistencies, such as Aarti walking around after seeming a little weakened in the previous scene, lol. I suppose we need to chalk it up to the adrenaline rush of her maternal instincts. Also, since the baby should be in an incubator, it flies against logic that the doctor will allow him to stay with Aarti simply on Yash's request (although they could bring it up later on if they need a medical-related Aayu arc in the near future). 🤔 I don't know how practical this would be, but one possible solution could have been having the doctor say she's requesting one of the incubator units to be moved to Aarti's room so that Aayu could placed in it. Call it a special privilege or something, but that loophole can easily be addressed. But it is what it is.
Minu, enjoyed your review and that cap. Such a fun scene.
Nina, true. Today, Yash did say "Aarti" when speaking to Prateek. But, IA, I don't see him saying "Aarti" to her face unless it's in an emergency (like the lemon scene). At one point, I also wanted to see the "ji" removed in their address to each other. But it's become so second nature for them now that I really think I would miss it if they didn't say it. I understand that on the surface there's a formality attached to the titles, but for them there's a great deal of affection and naturalness attached to it now. If they drop the "ji" tomorrow, I'd be fine with it, but I'm very content that they've kept it. 😃
