To be honest, I wasn't expecting Aarti to reveal everything, at least not before everybody else

I thought he wouldn't evenn let Yash know what the truth is, until one fine day when he finds it out himself...

Yes, the way it all came out was unexpected and a tad bit crude too. But I think that was the only way for it to have come out. No one would have accepted such a devastating truth otherwise.

When declaration, challenges, DNA test, result, HUMILIATION etc was done in view of ALL then declaration of truth by Arthi in full view was totally right and more important there was no time to think and act for it was the case of getting right for one son who was robbed off his identity.

SPILLING BEANS IN FRONT OF ALL CAN BE AVOIDED IF THE CHALLENGES WERE DONE PRIVATELY.
