The handsome hunk who rose to popularity with 'Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon' will enter Zee TV's 'Punar Vivah' as a driver to the Scindia household.

Sources inform that Akshay Dogra is playing the role of a new parallel lead to Gurmeet Choudhary. His sudden emergence as the new driver for the family will strangely coincide with the kidnapping of Ansh, son of Yash (Gurmeet Chaudhary) and Aarti (Kratika Sengar). We also hear that there is a twist in the tale and soon Akshay's character will be revealed as the illegitimate son of Suraj Pratap Scindia (Chetan Pandit).

"I am playing a good guy with a bad attitude. I will start shooting from today. This is completely opposite to my earlier character of Aakash inIss Pyaar ko Kya Naam Doon. This is what got me excited. It is a parallel track to the male lead of the show Gurmeet Chaudhry who I have immense regard for as an actor. There are several dimensions to this role. It has shades of grey. The mysterious dark secrets and hisulterior motives will unravel over a period of time. I hope the audience enjoys my performance", said Akshay.

Currently, Yash and Aarti are battling with the disappearance of their son Ansh following Yash's nasty battle with Prashant, which results inthe latter's death. Prashant had kidnapped Ansh before his death. But clearly, someone else has stepped into Prashant's shoes and is continuing to hold Ansh hostage. Could it be this new driver in the family? And is there someone from amongst the Scindia family who has partnered with the driver to kidnap Ansh?
