Hi Everyone!!!
Welcome to the Punar Vivaah - Ek Nayi Umeed analysis thread.

This is a daily thread that will be opened after each episode and will serve as a discussion space for those who wish to explore and discuss the show at the level of characterization, plot, and symbolism.

Please note that the main forum will continue to be a place for sharing news and views of all kinds. This thread is for people to primarily engage in the analysis of the episodes rather than just their description. In other words, we are not so concerned with what happened as much as with the how, the why and its place to the rest of the plot.

I would like to invite all PV-ENU enthusiasts to participate and share their thoughts and ideas, with an emphasis on analysis and moving beyond the i-love-this, or i-cant-stand-this type of comments.

The usual forum rules apply with respect to decency, fairness, and decorum. Please be respectful of other people and their opinions at all times as we would like a healthy environment that promotes creativity and sharing. Also, please refrain from discussing the actors' personal lives as we only want to talk about their characters in this show.

Please help this thread thrive through your participation and cooperation.

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions please do not hesitate to PM me.

Happy debating!

OOOPS! Hey guys, just realized that the update I made to my 'reserved' post didn't appear hear after all. No idea what happened here. 😕
Now on to today's episode; let's just say I was alternating between cringing and rolling my eyes, especially at Raj taking his parents' blessing for...what? Robbing them and running away with a married woman??? Yuck! And when he is discovered by Divya, he says he wants them to be polished...what about the bank notes - do they need to be polished too? He didn't tell Divya the truth because she'd feel bad about it and he didn't have the courage, but what about her feelings on discovering his two-faced nature?? And does it not take "courage" to sneak around, knowing the impact of betrayal on so many people? 😡
I don't know what the CVs intend to do with Raj and his runaway emotions, but I am glad that they showed Divya wanting to quit and leave. She needs to care about her self-respect too! And we have the two leading ladies taking turns convincing each other to continue with the charade, while they come up with even more hare-brained ideas! I would like to call them Gulaab Gang from now on.
The first scene was quite interesting, in that we see Vikrant doing his best to get Sarita's approval, but also refusing to change into his nightwear - so he isn't doing a 100% of what she wants him to. I wonder if this hints at disagreements in the future regarding Abhi or their relationship. So they clarified that Vikrant dropped her off at Raj's place and then waited for her to show up; makes better sense than him waiting for her outside Raj's house. At least they thought to get back home to put Abhi to bed. 😉
I'm happy that Sarita is becoming more comfortable with the physical contact that Vikrant initiates, and that she pretends not to notice his sly tricks in bed. When Vikrant first appeared on the show, I never imagined I'd see him sitting on the kitchen bench and pinching snacks off the tray. He seems to be loosening up quite a bit, and I have a feeling we may be seeing his abrupt and khadoos face pretty soon. I liked how he reprimanded Sarita for the way she asked him to put down the food he was about to eat, but also asked her to prepare his food once he found out the reason for her strictness.
I loved the last scene of course, especially what Vikrant was wearing...more on that later!
Dialog of the day:
Agar tum jaisa chahne waala ho, to career ki kya zaroorat hai
(ghar pe hi to soap opera chal raha hai!!)

I agree. They pushed Raj's character too far. It's hard to feel sorry for him when he continues stealing while crying about it and after hearing about how his parents are depending on him.

How far is Raj going to sink?
Visa scenes as usual very good.
Vikrant making his moves and Sarita responding was shown beautifully in the bed scene.
But till Sarita opens up about the whole Raj thing the viewers will always not fully enjoy Visa scenes. Like she herself said to Divya she is in a way cheating on Vikrant. When he is being so open and honest with her the least she can do is share her troubles with him. I really do not know what is stopping her from revealing the truth.

In PV1 too Aarti hid the divorce truth for tooo long and how it blew up in her face. So hiding truth is an indirect way of lying and is just as bad. Here her truth is not even that devastating and is only her way of setting things right for Raj and divya so I do not see the point in her hiding. Rather by sharing her plans she can even get another supporter to carry out her plan successfully.

No wonder we see a hostile reaction from Vikrant (as per the articles). His picking up the gun for what ever reason is his first instinctive reaction to Sarita's betrayal. But I am sure he wont carry it through and would abandon his wish to get back at Sarita and would internalize the hurt.

Looking forward to what happens next.

agree completely..I still might have felt sorry for him if he actually was unable to do so realizing his grave mistake of even thinking of ruining future of his entire family..
Imagine how badly he has been ruined-his father is ill and according to him almost paralyzed, he is the only son in the family and also the sole-bread earner of the family in current scenario, he has three sisters to be married off,his mother and daadi to be taken care of AND what does he do-he is planning to run away from home leaving them all alone,..not only this he is taking all their life savings and family jewellery along to leave them with no money whatsoever..once he does that imagine situation of his family!!his family will be heartbroken, his father or mother might have a heart attack or get bed ridden with such a betrayal, they will have to sell their house to even survive for few years..and Raj knowing all this goes ahead with his plan to be able to have Sarita in his life..The guy who does not care for the parents who gave him birth and brought him up, his blood siblings who have always showered their love on him, how can we even expect him to care for Divya or Abhi's feelings? And he is doing all this for a woman who is clearly telling him that she will take him only if he has money otherwise she has nothing to do with him!..Is he really expecting love from her when she has so clearly made her intentions known to him? You hope and hope that he will turn a new leaf before it is too late..but frankly for me with him stealing at his own home, it is already too late..I do not feel any hope for this character now and really do not understand how CVs can think of redeeming him by taking him so far..or they have made him a negative character? I agree that human make mistakes but Raj has just crossed all limits with mistakes which are not forgivable for me atleast.. Maybe in future Cvs will bring him back to good and because I watch the show I will see it but feeling any emotion for him would be way too difficult now..
In Madhubala also CVs took RK's character way too far with him literally kidnapping MAdhu and chaining her to keep her at his home, treating her like a toy he had abandoned after playing with her and than realized he wanted that toy back when he saw it with someone else..RK was always a grey character in the show but I could never accept Rishbala together after that because for me RK was ruined way to beyond to be redeemed so easily..I could not feel any chemistry between them also because their are more things important than just chemistry for me..Here also if we have Ravya back in picture, I do not know if I will be ever able to accept him to be deservant of Divya after all he has done to her..

I agree with everyone who feels the CVs are taking Raj's character too far. I understand him being confused, but what he's doing is bordering on criminal. I seriously wonder if they'll be able to redeem him. Or was the intention always to have him and Divya turn negative? That could be interesting if played right, though.

My sentiments exactly about that show...I just could not digest it..
