Since the Raso is a primary source, one would think that things not stated in the Raso are false..........
However, before we think that, we should consider a few things:
1. The Raso was written by Chander Bardai...one of Prithvi's best friends.......who assisted Prithvi in almost every mission and war........
Now, one would think that he included every single detail about these missions in the raso.........but I don't think this is the case.......I doubt that Chander walked around on these missions with a writing cloth, feather-pen, and ink, constantly writing down everything that happened........Especially during a war.......he didn't walk into his tent at night and write abt every single thing that happened........I bet he wanted to get his sleep so that he could wake up next morning and have enough energy to fight again........Thus, in the Raso.......the wars may only be summarized to a certain extent.....Meaning that not enough detail may be present to show the war on tv.........that would mean that the Sagars would have to add a few things to show the war on tv........if they don't do that....then the story will be summarized.........and not enough detail would be present to interest the viewer.
2. Chander is about the same age as PRC.......thus, he might not know everything about what happened before PRC's birth........who blessed him.....and all of that..... he might not even know about things that happened when PRC was little..........Just think abt it, how much of your childhood do you remember??? Can you write a whole book about it.........abt the time u were 4-5-6...I think not.........And just think...........Can you picture Chander going to Someshwar..........and conducting long interviews abt what happened b4 PRC's birth..........like Mr. Someshwar, explain in detail what happened before Prithvi was born? Who tried to threaten him? .........I don't think this was the case.........thus, chander probably summarized a lot with this........He wouldn't write every single detail....Yet........the Sagars' role was to give info on PRC's birth and all that..........so yes.......they had to fabricate a bit.....
Even these fabrications..........I doubt that most of them are completely made up.........If you read the beginning of each PRC show........it says that stories have also been taken from local Rajasthani folklore.........I'm guessing these are stories that have been passed on for generations in a single family........I mean........the Ram Leela and stuff that prc did during koteshwar.........Chander wasn't with him at the time..........I highly doubt that he sat down with PRC and asked him every single thing he did on the yatra during his absence..........
Thus, the Sagars made these parts based on folklore.....even some of these hamshakal stories..........like the Mohini one...and now the Mahesh one........I'm sure these arent in the Raso..........why.........because these are little things that happened during PRC's life.........and Chander was writing a poem...........not an account of every single moment of PRC's life.......
Also, the whole Koteshwar thing.........many say its false........however, there might've been some story that inspired this................Plus..........Just think abt it........If false stories were told about Koteshwar mandir.........then wouldn't the mandir oppose in some way...........a few friends have told me that on Mount Abu, there is a mandir known as Koteshwar......
All I'm trying to say is that we can't say that something is wrong just because its not in the raso...........because the raso wasn't a account of dialogues........it was a poetic manuscript written abt PRC's life.............
Other things, such as Historical records and folklore may also be telling the truth....
This is probably why it took the Sagars ten years of research to make this show........they had to determine which stories sounded right and which didn't......
I agree that some things may be fabricated........due to a lack of details........You can conduct an internet search yourself..........and you will find that info on PRC is very scarce.........there is not much detail abt him on the net.....whereas if you look for like Ram or Krishna........you'll find great details.....even the raso..........it is very hard to find a copy.........now........are these folklores true or not.........we don't know..........but.........what else can be done???
To make a serial on a person with low records, it is possible that some things may not be real.........but........its not their fault..........they want to get PRC's good qualities to us......and to keep the show interesting.......they have added some things.......
Look at their other serials........like Ramayan and Shri Krishna.........most of the material is authentic.............This is because these stories were written by people who could see past, present, and future all while sitting in one place. Valmiki and Ved Vyas were trikalgyaani.........meaning they could see everything........thus, they probably could write all the details in their manuscripts..........Chand on the other hand was a normal person with a life.........he had two wives...............and many children..........
I feel that the Sagars thought that it is important to make us aware of PRC's good qualities.........and his weakness...........because it is worth knowing.......I mean.........he was like a perfect figure.........but just one flaw brought him down.........made India victim to Moghuls........and basically ruined a lot of things that India had........
From a director's perspective, if a show doesn't include enough detail, then young ppl will stop watching it. If this happens, then they can't get the message across..........thus...........these stories are for us.........to keep our interest.......I'm sure all of us liked the Koteshwar scenes..........and all of us liked some of the non-Raso stories.........because they add interest.....like the Mohini thing..........I was cracking up like anything while watching that show.......plus it was one of the first I watched..........That def made me feel positive abt the show..........
From Koteshwar, we can relate PRC to ourselves.........a guy who fights, flirts, and falls in love.........It gives his character a modern twist............Also, this portion brings out a lot of youthful emotions.....like the will to succeed, anger over undesirable outcomes, hatred for annoying ppl, and the whole process of falling in love........
I feel the Sagars are not doing wrong...........well.........many things that we say they're doing wrong..........they're probably not..............some things........probably should not be included and are overdone..........but then again........we all have diff opinions.......
