Respected Star Plus team,
First of all I would like to say that you have done an excellent job in providing entertainment to the Indian public for the last couple of years. I really enjoy watching some shows on your channel and I hope that I can continue watching your shows.
Now I would like to pose a couple of questions to the person in charge of this channel. Do you have the right to make decisions for directors of other shows regarding casting? Are TRPs the only thing you care about? and Do you really want to loose the popular support you have among fans of your shows?
What I am getting at here is the viewers displeasure regarding the new cast of your show, Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan. It is such a disgrace that the star plus channel would miscast an unsuccessful actor for the role of India's greatest king. After the flawless and phenomenal performance of Rajat Tokas and Mughda Chappekar, wouldn't the viewers expect a better actor to fill the shoes for the older Prithviraj. We all are well aware of the acting ability of Anas Rashid, to put it in simple words he is unfit for the role of PRC because he has no charisma, style or conviction to do the role properly. I don't know if you care so much about this show, but we viewers who do care do not want to remember someone like Anas Rashid and his lackluster performance as the greatest king in Indian history! No one can beat Rajat Tokas as Prithviraj and you are well aware of this.
Also, isn't it your job to ensure that you have the best quality programming ? So, where did your marketing strategy go now, with the changing of the cast. You should be well aware that many viewers have stopped watching PRC because of Rajat's exit and even more people will stop watching PRC if Mr.Anas continues being the new PRC. So, my suggestion is that you cast someone else or you bring back Rajat because this is the best way to raise back your TRPs for PRC and your channel.
Another point I would like to make is, do you have the right to make the decisions for the Sagars regarding the cast? We all are well aware that you chose the cast for the Sagars and you wanted the leap to occur sooner, while the Sagars wanted to continue Rajat's role until someone really good was casted as PRC. In my view and everyone else's view, you have absolutely no right to choose who will be the new PRC instead of the Sagars. This is extremely unfair to them and to us and by doing this you have shamed your channel as well as the show. No one is willing to watch this new PRC because of your miscasting. The Sagars have a better idea of who can act because they have always produced excellent shows from Ramayan, to Hatim,to Saibaba, to Prithviraj Chauhan and in every case the lead actors have excelled. So do not make PRC a shortfall just because of your unwise decision.
We have a little saying that I learned in my history class. If a country is at war and the government and politicians make all the decisions instead of the army, then the govt. is doomed to loose. So apply this analogy to yourself and let the Sagars take all the decisions because they will be much more rational then your decisions. It's just good business for you if you know what I mean. Reverse your decision about the new cast and bring back someone better suited for playing the role of PRC before the damage is irreversible. My words my sound harsh to you but its not only me who is saying all of this, it is all the true fans of this serial. Remember, this is a true historical incident and the actors must be true to the real person in history, so clearly Anas is a misfit. Please heed my advice before its too late and your channel and TRPs suffer, afterall its just good business for you!
And finally, all of the fans of PRC have a wonderful saying which is, "Prithiviraj Chauhan ke fans ne kabhi harna nahi sikha," we always win all our battles and we never back down. It is possible and probable that you will bow down to the viewers but we will never bow down to you and your unjust ways. After all, we are the Indian public, your loyal viewers, and your biggest asset, please for our sake undo the damage you have inflicted. You will benefit and only profit from doing what we ask of you. Thank you and I expect you to consider our request with sincerity.
Best Regards,
M Shah
