I think we should give credit to K as well for not stopping P from stopping the brutality to the servant...He supported his wife by keeping quiet where it matters but only told her to go away when it came to ASY..

ASY has not endeared himself to the family either as he knows the truth and rest are in the dark about it..He is not acting like a guest either but with authority as part of the family so no one is right in the way of dealing with the situation, whether it is SS, ASY, KP..
