Good Tuesday Morning/Evening/Night to all readerswa! š TOTAL COUNT: 1915 Monday's episode was all about Takurs being amazed, fazed, feazed and dazed.
Krishna arrives at the location where his namesake Dhaba is getting the finishing touches. Tunna and Chandu are pacing looking busy supervising the activities of the workers hard at work. Will we ever see a day when the two devars pick up a tool and do any work at all esp. Chandu who bosses Tunna? They give Krishna and Prats the tour and details on the progress of the Dhaba. Chandu even has the menu ready for the proprietor's purusal. Aware of his unpud status Krishna refers Prats to proofread the menu and she signs off on it.
Krishna, the besan ka laddoo lover realizes that desserts didn't make it to the menu. He wants to serve Prats's favorite jalebi at the Dhaba. Is the young Takur depending a bit too much on his wife these days? š¤ Prats prefers that Krishna pay attention to what the majority of customers would prefer and suggests gulab jamun and without a second thought Krishna gives it the A-ok right away. Pardon me, but how does Prats know the potential customer's preference? Did she take a survey? If so when did she have the time to do that? Why is Krishna so dependant on Prats, what ever happened to the self-confident man who thought on his feet?
Krishna introduces Prats to the head chef who likes to listen to his own voice and tells him the chola batura had to be Prats's signature recipe and the chef readily agrees. Babu is escorted into the kitchen by the chef. Krishna fantasizes with flashblacks into the future until Prats interrupts him.
Back at the Niwas, Takurain hands her daughter, moping MMGJ bahu and Adarsh ki patni Komal a plateful of sliced A-pill. The shrewd Takur beti recognizes her mother's mopey face. Komal has become good at reading mopey faces after months at the MMGJ house. Chewing on a-pill Komal lends her mother an ear as Amma fills her daughter in on her sorry plight these days what with Takur Sajjan Singh now on the bandwagon with Krishna singing Prats's praises. Komal fuels Takurain's insecurity by reminding her she's on her way to becoming the next GD which seems to get Amma's wheels turning in her head.
RAIN ALERT: We are rudely interrupted by a call from Rainy "Eyes" Saxsena raining questions about Komal over the phone at her bored beta. From the looks on Dadi and Arusi's faces a new viewer could easy be misled to believe that Bawling Bahu Saxsena (BBS) is calling the hospital to inquire about an ill relative, little do they know this is the pathetic plight at the Saxes everyday. Adarsh sees his family's behavior as being no more than pretend play. In a monotone voice he sticks it to Naina Raining Saxsena "now that Komal was away you are concerned about her yet when she is around you can't wait to pick a fight with her". Ouch! He tells BBS not to worry her silly head about him or his wife anymore, they are quite capable of caring for themselves and as an afterthought he adds that Komal will be spending two days at Takur's for some much sought after spoiled brat treatment. SS's willingness to hold his hand has given this dull boy a boost of confidence, yet he seems troubled.
As expected Naina is on the verge of a nervous breakdown and Arusi rushes to calm her down lest she and Dadi continue to look like stationary fixtures in the Green House.š
Raja Nal of the Takur family returns home with his babbar sherni by his side. SS is the first to welcome his happy ladla back home. Krishna sits by his bauji and proudly tells him that the Dhaba is all set for the grand opening. The rest of the Takur clan is present including the Troublesome Eavesdropping Takurain (TET) with her ears perked up. KN looks disappointed, Amma is curious, GD is grateful, Kesar is pleased and TET is displeased at the progress with the Dhaba. GD is the first to give her blessings that this husband-wife's dreams will continue to be successful. SS is back beating the drums and tells his family that the success is a given for Raja Nal is after all Takur Sajjan Singh's ladla beta.
SS is impatient to know the name of the Dhaba. Mr. Bayl Buddhi's brains eases off the breaks. He is sure Baba has named it after Pratigya as the rest of the family already knows. Krishna sarcastically douses KN's momentary brainstorm with tanda tanda paani leaving the newbie thinker confused and surprised. KN gives it another go and guesses it's Saxsena Hotel. Krishna tells him he's off the mark againš. Have the Takurs started their own version of the game of dumb charade or is it a version of "Guess"? Amma pipes in with her choices it's Masterni ka Dhaba or Masterni's Mummy Naina ka Dhaba. While all this was going on where was ghar ki beti Komal? Still finishing off the slices of A-pill her Amma brought her or napping like she often did at MMGJ? It's not like she does much at MMGJ besides fixing Adarsh a meal these days either. KN pipes in again like he's got a winner, it's Krishna Hotel MMGJwali and Amma and he enjoy their own jocular taunts as she chuckles in delight. After all putting down someone to make themselves feel better is an age-old trait in many folks with low self-esteem. Krishna sarcastically praises his brother and Amma for their brilliant minds. SS renders the best line of the day in a nutshell pointing first to his wife and then his firstborn "Ye Nirbudhi, woh Bayl Budhi". Lallantop Takur! ššš¼šBulls eye!
Krishna announces Prats chose the name bec' she recognizes both you and bauji lovingly call him BABA and their blessings will always be with him on my first business venture. Stunned faces all around. Amma is speechless. SS asks Amma if her mind has gone grazing. He makes sure he doesn't spare KN so he sends a zinger his way "his brain has dropped to his knees." Anyone but KN who has an ounce of self-respect would have kept his lips zipped instead of opening it and removing all doubts. SS reminds Amma "somewhere in a different lifetime you must have done something good to get a bahu like Prats".What is SS up to with piling the praises on Prats these days?š²
Amma's silence stokes the curiosity of the entire family, even Piasiya as they wait for her reaction. GD and Krishna more than the rest are watching her with eagle eyes. Amma approaches Prats and asks for her forgiveness. "It's not my fault, I've always known the saas-bahu drama formula as the norm in life where they put each other down. GD looks on suspiciously, while SS's jaw has already hit the floor in shock. SS questions Amma's intentions but an emotional Amma tells him to mock her all he wants. Now that she's finally understood he wants to know what he next step is going to be. š¤ Amma continues to talk to Prats "it's my fault I never tried to understand you. You have transformed my son's life and brought him on the right track." SS has a smile on his face. What is the buzurg Takur up to now? SS's every move is now questionable.š Takurain places the keys to the Takur throne in Prats's palm and says she is the right person to handle the family affairs going forward. Even the ever-so-shrewd SS and GD are in a daze. Kesar face shows confusion and pleasure. Is she wondering why she has been bypassed as badi bahu and relegated to being wallflower in the Niwas when she is the one providing the potha for the family? KN is visibly shockedš². Kesamma wheels are already churning, plotting her next line of action.
Watching Amma hand over the keys Mera hears the famous speech by JFK in her mind "Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation. Let every outsider (Kesamma) know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty (of the Takurs). ššš Just the kind of thing Papa Shamu would love to hear.š
This is the same Amma who not too long ago was staring daggers, her facial muscles frozen with emotion ready to burst. She had huffed and left with SS with a dare that she'd see how Krishna would repay his debt. When she overhead Kriya's conversation about the business, Kesamma filled her ears with warnings she had very little time to act so she doesn't lose her son. Later SS tells her he has been in cahoots with Kesamma to ensure KN and Kesar have patched up their marriage. SDS is now insecure that SS has sidelined her and teamed up with Kesamma in his plans and is singing Prats's praises at the drop of a hat. She sees these two women a threat to her position as ruling Queen in their own ways.
Amma is an enigma! Did the threat of Kesamma making inroads with SS and in her home lead to Takurain conjuring up a plan to protect her family and assets from Kesamma knowing that Prats is the only one capable of stumping the scheming woman? Is this her plot to oust Kesamma from the Niwas? Or is this her attempt at handing the keys hoping to set Prats up for a big downfall and split Baba and Babu? SS today repeatedly said "now you understand what's going on, so what was her next move". Will we find out later that SS and SDS had conjured up a plan or was that a genuinely shocked SS in front of the family?š²š¤ Was it a staged act? Why was SS questioning Amma's motives? Was that an act for Krishna's benefit or was the buzurg Takur stumped by his wife's moves too? The Takurs are becoming very unpredictable, each upstaging the other. Was Amma genuinely moved to tears hearing Krishna give Prats all the credit for naming the Dhaba? Was this all an act by her to pull the wool over Prats's eye? The fact that her behavior brought stunned looks from SS and KN holds some value here. Was she tripping everyone with her unpredictable behavior? Why would she do so with every member of the family there as witnesses.
Preview: Nosey Nari Kesamma grills Amma about her intentions for pulling off an act that stunned everyone. By the looks on Amma's face it seems she is out to oust this troublemaker who has managed to get SS to sideline her in the plot to unite KN-Kesar. Or is Amma is playing solo from another angle of getting two birds with one stone? With Krishna and Prats on one side and Kesamma teaming with SS and KN-Kesar on the other there is an curious dynamics building up in the Takur house. Will Amma figure it out on her own and be rid of the real enemy of the Takur family?
