Thakurain to quit Pratigya? - Article

Asmita Sharma who plays Thakurain, Krishna's daunting and fearless mother is planning to quit the top rated show Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya.

The actress who was earlier doing two shows - chose to quit Balika Vadhu after her marriage. She was not able to devote much time to her family which prompted her to bid adios to one of the two shows. The actress now wants to quit the only show she is working on as she wants to go on a long break which will last for a couple of years. She has already informed the production house of her decision and is awaiting their reply.

Informs the actress, "Yes, I have informed the production house that I want to quit the show as I want to go on a long break. I have been ignoring my family and it's high time I spend some quality time with my husband. I got married when I was busy with two shows - Balika Vadhu and Pratigya. I had quit Balika then and now I am planning to leave Pratigya. My contract ends in December and I am waiting for the production house's response on this."

Isn't it a brave decision to quit one of the top rated shows on TV? "Well this is an ongoing temptation. If I take this into account, I would never be able to take a break. I will be off television for atleast a couple of years now", adds the talented actress.

Producer Pearl Grey didn't revert to our calls and text messages. Both Pratigya and Krishna remained unaware about this development. Said Pratigya, "I don't wish to comment on this as this is strictly between her and the production house. She is a brilliant actress and a great co-actor."
