A Progressive Show? Seriously?

I know this topic's been discussed before, but after yesterday's episode I just had to say this. Pratigya was supposed to be a show about progressive women, women who stood up for their rights and did not bow down to the men in their lives....what happened to that premise? The show is a joke now
Case 1: Kesar...she is literally just a ragdoll for everyone to toss around and abuse whenever they feel like. She's never had one day of respect, never stood up to Shakti, had countless miscarriages, been treated like a servant, forced out of her own marriage, raped by her husband...and still she never says anything! I mean every human has a tolerance limit? Is she waiting for them to kill her before she tried and speaks up? She should leave the house, or at the very least report the abuse to someone and stop being such a carpet. Yes she has horrible circumstances but at what point has she actually tried to make things easier for herself? She just stands silent and lets that disgusting husband and mother in law abuse her.
Case 2: Arushi...so she lost a fiancee and she married Shakti??? Are women so desperate to have a man in their lives to validate their identity that they can't posisbly stay single? This is a woman from an educated household? What self-respecting woman in her right mind would marry a disgutsing, alcoholic, abusive and tyrannical man like Shakti. It would be better to stay single all your life than to spend a single day with a man who treats woman like the shoes on his feet.
Case 3: Pratigya...seriously, every once in a while tell Krishna to shut up! He may be your husband and he may love you a lot, but he openly tolerates the abuse that his sister-in-law suffers every single day. He says nothing against the abuse his father does on his mother. He is always happy to just live in his bubble and let everyone else deal with their "personal problems;" the man may love Pratigya but he has no sense of morality when it comes to anyone else. How would he like it if his beloved Pratigya was married to someone who raped her, beat her up etc?
Seriously, this show is making me sick to my stomach. In the year 2010, it amazes me that such antiquated, narrow minded characters are even allowed to exist on the screen. Where is the progression, where are the strong willful women, the triumph of what is right over the evil? The men on the show are cavemen-like jerks, and the women are carpets. This show is taking us back a hundred years 😕

Thanks Jai. The media is a very powerful tool and has enormous impact on its viewers. Instead of just ratings, hopefully CV's will reconsider the storyline. At the moment the moral and ethical message is next to nil.
